Hell Bent for Leather (1960)
An 8 for a good western and 1 extra for the GREAT scenes in one of the most amazing places in the world, Lone Pine and the Alabama Hills
A true tale of old west redemption for a good guy in the face of bad guys and mis-lead citizens. Couldn't have been shot in a more iconic place, Line Pine, CA / Alabama Hills!
Luxury Liner (1948)
Jane Powell Great as usual, but........
Jane Powell, GREAT, the rest of this move 3-4 stars.
The Dodge Dancing Party: Episode #13.37 (1968)
A Harry Warren Music Fest
Some of the finest songs ever written. What a joy!
Chinatown (1974)
If you like L.A. history, don't miss the chance to see this movie
Noire or L.A. history, this very well done movie is a classic.
Facing the Giants (2006)
This is one fine film
The budget of this movie is not reflected in its quality. Relatively unknown actors, production, and crew have crafted a story told directly, without apology, and without any gratuitous sex, language, or pyrotechnics. Just a well thought out, coherent script, mated with straight forward but insightful lighting and cinematography. It is amazing that the lead is the Director, the Editor, the Casting Director, and a few other roles as well. Mark Richt's appearance was a great touch, and an obvious fully community support film creates a story everyone can relate to. Well done! If this film does not uplift your day, you must have one foot in Heaven already. In a world and an industry filled with cynicism and cut-cut-cut special effects, this story is a real story that reveals the value of eternal perseverance. Thank God for a gift of the heart.
