Senior Trip (1995)
You Know What You Get
With a movie like this you know exactly what to expect and that is exactly what you are going to get. Some raunchy and gross and stupid jokes.
This movie was pretty fun to watch when that is what you want to see. I really loved some of the characters they had in the show and I was pleasantly surprised that I ended up enjoying this TV movie and laughing at so much of it, pretty much I enjoyed the movie and jokes all the way through.
It's not like most National Lampoons movies now which have gotten really bad it's almost as funny as the old stuff they did back when the brand name was really respected and funny.
Con (2005)
Yawn, boring and stupid.
I couldn't stand this show. so glad it got canceled quick.
I can't believe the Comedy Network (Canada) re-aired the episodes of it they must be so desperate for any programs at all. I'm sure they just got it cheap.
The guy on this show is so annoying and untalented and not funny at all.
He is just so unlikeable, I hated him and even though every scheme was obviously scripted and fake (not to mention stupid) he was such a jerk for pretending to do such stupid stuff and thinking he was cool.
He's not cool he sucks.
My grade, One out of ten.
Punky Brewster (1984)
I loved it!
I saw Punky Brewster reruns every afternoon when I was a kid and I loved that show.
I thought it was a great show. Looking back it is dated and the laughs aren't there but it is still a good family show I would like my girl to watch someday.
I really liked the old guy character, he was such a nice guy and I like the actor too because he seems nice.
I also liked the animated series they had for the show but I barely remember it and I think it didn't last long, I actually saw that before I saw the regular live version of Punky Brewster.
It's nice to see Soleil Moon Frye is still working too.
Great show, 10 out of 10!
Cream of Comedy (1998)
A great show!
Gavin Crawford is terrific. I am so glad he won. He went on after this to have his own show The Gavin Crawford Show, on the comedy network which was a really good show and showcased his great talents and the very many characters he can do. The other acts were all pretty funny too in this show but just not as funny as Gavin Crawford. The production value of this award show goes up every year and I am always impressed by the talent in these shows, it is a great thing that the comedy network runs this award show and they give away the Tim Sims award to an upcoming Canadian comedy performer or group so that we can continue to have such a great comedy industry here.
ALF (1986)
A fantastic sitcom
I used to love watching ALF every week. It's on in reruns now and I admit I watch it and say to my self hey what was I thinking? But the show is just dated like all shows are and at the time I was madly in love with this show and I know my friends were too. ALF was hilarious and it had the family all perfectly cast playing their roles. The best scenes were always the ones between Willie (the dad) and ALF. Even the Ochmoniks (spelling?) were perfectly cast as the wacky nosy neighbours, especially Mrs. Ochmonik who I think was also a neighbour in another TV show at around the same era. It was great family entertainment, well written and well played by all the performers including ALF himself and well produced. It is badly dated now but I still give the show 9 out of 10.
This Is Wonderland (2004)
a very good show!
this show is great. it is an example of when cbc does things right how good a show it can make. i think that the star and her supporting cast are all perfect in their roles and i hope this show comes back for not just one but for many more seasons. it is very funny but at the same time quite dramatic and it has a heart. it's the kind of good Canadian show i would have my children watch and will as soon as they are old enough as long as this show is still on. unfortunately a lot of good Canadian shows on cbc get cut down so i hope this one survives. the production values are terrific (again especially for a cbc show) and the writing is superb. good work all around.
From the Desk of Ron Sparks (2005)
very strange and very funny.
i saw this movie on the comedy network and i thought it was great. ron sparks is a man who lives in a bomb shelter, i guess he has his whole life. the only other people he has contact with are people at the c.n. tower in toronto and he only can contact them by sending them mail - old fashioned snail mail that he types on an old fashioned typewriter which he sends by putting into a mailbox. and somehow the mailbox apparently just magically beams all the mail to the people and back to him. he looks like an office worker from the 1950s which is the time his typewriter looks to be from so maybe that's how long he's been down there. he writes to the c.n. tower to ask them if he can jump off the tower in a cape and bounce from a trampoline back into the tower, and shows them the plans he has drawn up (which are just drawings) to prove that he can do it. those plans are the funniest part. then the police send him a restraining order and he writes them back to ask them out for dinner, and to say he is going to drive their police car around. very strange and very funny.
