Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price (2005)
Wal Mart Pays Disgustingly Compared to Costco
There are some "viewer posts" on this site that are fake. Someone at WalMart's rapid response team is posing as a Wal Mart employee, and providing facts regarding how wonderful Wal Mart is.
One fact I know is that COST PLUS pays its employees a respectable wage, and WAL MART does not. In one study, WAL MART's SAM'S CLUB STORE was found to pay its employees A $11.52 per hour, while COSTCO paid its employees $15.97, 40% Less. (Source: Business Week Online April 12, 2004)
Note: I am NOT associated with any business, labor group, political party, association, or group of any kind. I'm just sick of WAL MART paying its employees disgusting wages, and then paying politicos big money to provide RAPID RESPONSE PUBLIC RELATIONS sound bites, attempting to defend the indefensible. They should start by not lying about who them are, when they post submissions on IMDb.
Red Eye (2005)
CILIAN MURPHY looks like a TEAM America PUPPET
This movie is ordinary. But it's watchable and can hold your interest.
1. Pace is good. Wes Craven gets right to the point re the danger to the main character. 2. "Realism" e.g. the ability to keep your suspension is okay. 3. Is is just me, or does Cilian Murphy look like a puppet? I don't mean this to be negative, but his facial features really make him look like a Team America Puppet. Does anyone agree??? I'm being serious. I think he's a good actor....but he looks like a puppet. 4. There is no character development....this is a GOOD THING. Who wants to have some stupid character arc where some pasenger gets over a melodrama, a la "Airport". The passengers have no bakstory and this is a good thing.
Lords of Dogtown (2005)
Venice Beach Movies
This movie has cred...I was really impressed. As someone who loves Venice Beach, I was apprehensive that the settings would fail to capture the spirit of V.B. a few decades ago. The director did a great job with the pier shots and capturing the look-n-feel of the Venice Beach scene. ****Maybe they'll make some movies 30 years from now about Venice Beach 2005? Possible movie subjects: ***1. The heartwarming story of the V.B. ex-addict who overcomes odds to balance chairs on his chin for tourists from Iowa (Director: Ron Howard). ***2. The courtroom drama between greedy V.B. developers vs. old V.B. locals who think urinating in public is cool. (Director: Rob Reiner) ***3. The mysterious roller-skating guitar player and his twin brother (or is that "sister"?) (Director: Pedro Almodovar)
