Bitten (2014)
Refreshing take on Werewolves!
With Series like Teen wolf, Vampire Diaries, Originals, Etc. It's refreshing to see a series that isn't awash with teen fever. This has a mature feel to it and with every episode leaves you wanting to know more. As someone who loves all things Supernatural, I feel many people have failed to do a series strictly about werewolves, right. I was quickly bored with Teen Wolf, feeling like the situations were reaching too high too fast. That feeling of them trying too hard to have interest. Plus most things MTV are fails, for me.
However in regards to Bitten, I was a bit apprehensive to watch the series, due to reading some bad reviews. I have not read the book series. After the first episode I felt excited! The actress playing Elaina, is so refreshing and of course it doesn't hurt that she's gorgeous. In most shows, they have some young curvaceous thing. I feel the casting in this show was so spot on that I'm actually counting hours for the next episodes.
It's not entirely a show you'd expect to be on sci-fy. Most shows they tend to play are seemingly low budget, but the precision on this show is amazing. The storyline, believable and the chemistry between the characters is so strong.
My conclusion is WATCH THIS SERIES! It is definitely quickly becoming one of my favorites.
Uncle Grandpa (2010)
After attempting to watch it.
After my initial sit down of the show, within the first 3 minutes became entirely annoyed. The shows name in itself, repulsed me, however I attempted to give it a shot. The fact that "uncle grandpa" seems to have a mental handicap furthers the idea that this "man" is an inbred.
The catch phrase, which is said far too much, is aggravating and the "stories" lack thought, intelligence, and entertainment. To me it appears that the creator may have attempted to fill the shoes of the well known 90s ren and stimpy show, however this was nowhere near that. This show almost tries too hard.
You would literally have to be on drugs to find this show entertaining. With all that said I would like to say I gave it a fair shot and sat through a couple episodes. I regret the time wasted. If I could rate this show lower I would.
I feel Cartoon Network needs to push forward with the shows that are more reminiscent of classic Cartoon Network, instead of going down the weird shroomtastic, Alice and horror land, nightmarish stories. Cartoon Network is headed downhill fast. I only watch adventure time, everything else on the network makes me feel as though it's literally killing brain cells.
Adventure Time (2010)
Well thought out! Every episode!
Unlike most other cartoons, in every episode, this one seems to connect back to previous. Something that isn't really done in the cartoon world. It's so amazing to see a show that actually puts thought into its story lines and offers comedy for both children and adults without become Villegas.
While it appears there are innuendos at times and most I feel aren't needed, the intense story lines and emotions pull you in. The mushroom cloud war, so well thought out, marcelene the ice king. Princess bubblegum. It is literally a mind boggle Every time you watch it. You find yourself seeing new things that connect episodes.
I'm very impressed. Glad Cartoon Network has at least ONE good show on their crappy network.
