Illuminate (2020)
A movie about Mt. Shasta that hardly features Mt. Shasta
They literally could have put any footage of the beautiful nature of the surrounding area with that HEAVY narration and it would have been better than whatever tf I just watched 🤣 I also really wanna know why that poor girl didn't have sheets on her bed. #hardpass #whatswhitebalance
Never Hike Alone (2017)
Honestly better than 90% of the actual films.
The only downside is the last few minutes. It had a really strong build and then the actors/writing in the final scene don't match the quality of the rest of the film. Still a great movie. Wish it were longer. Can't wait for the sequels!
Into the Dark: Pure (2019)
Religious people are freaks
The real horror in this installment is just how creepy these types of things are. Prepare to feel very uncomfortable. I think they could have gone a little bit further with that aspect and also could have ramped up the thrills a little bit more, but it was still a fun ride. Definitely in the top 5 of Into The Dark.
Into the Dark: Flesh & Blood (2018)
Probably the best film in the series
Damn Diana Silvers is a great actor. Best installment in the series. Kept it suspenseful for a long time without any kills or frills.
Into the Dark: Pilgrim (2019)
Fun & gory, great acting, but ultimately disappointing
I enjoy all the blood and the acting was great, the end was just kind of like...there. They never really explain a good enough reason why they're doing this other than the guy pilgrim had a bad home life and now he wants everyone to have good family lives. It kind of felt like Krampus but a different approach. Good watch, some fun moments, but don't expect phenomenal writing from anything out of this series, unfortunately.
Into the Dark: Uncanny Annie (2019)
Good premise, bleh execution
Horror Jumanji is a great premise, it just didn't land upright. The acting was mediocre, few characters were likable, but there was one thing missing that could have saved it all...MORE ANNIE. Our titular character doesn't show up til like 80% into the movie (save the opening scene) and although the other ghouls and goblins were fun, it felt kind of repetitive and low budget (in a cheap way). It's a bummer too, because it's still a decently fun ride and when Annie does make appearances, she is legit creepy/terrifying. Per usual, Into The Dark rammed a great premise into the ground with excessive mediocrity
Into the Dark: New Year, New You (2018)
Fun, revenge film
For Into The Dark standards, New Year, New You is top notch. Probably the best acting performances in the series and the premise is just simplistic gold. The ending was a little lackluster on execution, but satisfactory for story. The depiction of influence culture and how those types of people talk and interact is on point and disturbingly hilarious. Highly recommend 👌
Into the Dark: All That We Destroy (2019)
Jesus Christ what an awful movie
I don't know which is worse, the acting or the writing 🤣 #blackmirrorforamateurs
