Fatal Seduction (2023)
Fatal Seduction is a damp squib
What the writers failed to achieve in brilliant storyline, they compensated by exaggerated sex scenes. The storyline is a copy of seen before American seduction films involving (obviously) an older woman and a younger man. Despite their 20 year union, the wife (Nandi) finds it easier to cheat on her husband based solely on unverified suspicions of an affair between her husband and his assistant. Leonard is portrayed as a dumb character. For a judge, his dialogue and decisions are flimsy. It took him the whole season to find out that his wife is cheating and still suspected the wrong man. Zinhle is also portrayed as an airhead. She ignores her friend's advice and hook up with a stranger online. Much to the confusion of the viewer, she treads solo to locate the mysterious online stalker. This is despite having a Professor and a Judge as parents. There are lots of unnecessary scenes that should have been cut out but I guess that the producers wanted to drag it to the next season.
Dead Places (2021)
Lukewarm
The cinematography is excellent, the setting and the location also brings something to the South African market submerged in soap operas and telenovelas. Interesting story lines though exaggerated at times. The characters of Joe and Kelly makes one cringe with their acting. They're not good at all, they try too much.
