A pretty good movie
2 June 2013
I've enjoyed the lovable all round good guy Jason Momoa in Atlantis and have seen him in the dull role of "that guy selling drinks on the beach". Little has been demanded of him in the past and his acting was never in a position to be stretched. Look what happens when you give him a real opportunity, what a truly great actor he is. His presence was every bit as good as the best out there. I do hope this is the start of bigger and better for him as he made the movie for me.

The movie, it was difficult to know if the tone was reflective of the south or structured like an old Bogie black and white real, not to many mouth organs or guitars sliding their way across pentatonics to tell.

Stallone, what more could be said that hasn't, not much so I won't, a great old actor he is that we all cherish he did and does his usual part as well as ever.

A good movie for a few more reason that I've said. solid directing a good start middle and, some sort of ending that still didn't set the tone

Oh Dear

Warning: Spoilers
Mark Strong made everyone else look very average, if it wasn't for him I would have walked out, no I'd have to add Johnny Harris to the list as well. There should be rules to this type of movie the first being not to have to explain the positions 10 minutes before the end thinking that the summation gives rights to the overall movie. This movie was frustrating on so many points the main was it took half an hour to make a descent one. Cinematography was top notch and that helped to keep the perspective of the lack of any depth of the characters again. James McAvoy the young Russell Crow look-a-like as the main actor didn't work, he has been great in other movies, I put it down to the director not showing him well in the tuff guy roll, never should do a full camera shot on a smaller person in a powerful roll. It would be a two vote except for the actors mentioned.

Great Movie
19 May 2013
I'm 57 years and a bit of a weekend trekker so I start out a bit biased, this is without confusion in saying out loud it's the best movie in any field I've seen (I've seen about every movie there is). A great story and acting was top of the range, the way to destroy the old star trek is to do a better therefore more memorable star trek and they have done it, no more looking back on "the good ol days" I'm now prepared to move on to this more realistic genre and all that it holds for the new 5 year plan. For me the more understated the acting and every day special effects the more time there is to immerse into the story, this does this superbly. It's hard to get past the moment and this Star Trek is the start of something great. A truly fantastic movie, I watched in 3D.

Great Movie

Warning: Spoilers
I'm personally not a hands in the air Christian person, I'm more likely to be judged not only not worthy but actually hopeless (Sam Harris may have it right in the end). I found the acting top notch and the overall production right on par with some of the best. I can hardly wait for the next. I luv movies and seen about all. Very enjoyable, it is one of those "hope I don't get left behind" movies. Very entertaining. The main actor holds it together well, good camera work helped, very good beginning that leads you to assume, don't. Christian movies always get it a bit wrong, teeth to perfect and a smudge of dirt doesn't always do the job of making an evil man evil plus a girl with a goth look and shiny lipstick doesn't scare much these days, who cares in this movie not many I doubt, again absolutely luv'd it and very believable, had me going and that was the point after all.
