Black Adam (2022)
Washed the sewage of Morbius, Thor Love and Thunder, and She Hulk out of my mind.
After nothing but failure after failure from Marvel trying to destroy their legacy, I was a little skeptical with Black Adam because this guy is an anti hero and they are making it PG-13. So I went in and hoped for the best and my faith was rewarded with this one. Its no Iron Man or Captain America Winter Soldier but it didnt need to be.
The Action is good, there are solid laughs in the movie, the cast was great as well stand outs being Johnson, Brosnan, and Hodge, The question of whether the world needs Black Adam brand of justice is brought into the light, just like Punisher before "Sometimes the world needs men who are willing to make the hard calls."
While I did have fun with this movie its not perfect, The kid is annoying, their is alot of telling and less showing in the first act of the film, and alot of exposition from characters on who Black Adam is and what he must do, I just wish they had more character moments as characters instead. Some of the music is also hit or miss, Ill let you decide on that.
Not a perfect film But Black Adam was indeed a good time at the movies and the post credit scene will definitely put a smile on peoples face like I did.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
The M-SHE-U Strikes Again *sigh*
Let me start by saying that I like Doctor Strange as a character, and Benedict Cumberbatch is a great actor. I love Sam Rami fantastic Director. With that said this movie is god awful.
It is not a Doctor Strange movie it is a Scarlet Witch film with America Chavez, guest starring Doctor Strange. The bait and switch suckered so many people, but we went in with hopeful optimism anyway and my god I just want my time and money back.
Scarlet Witch is a villain killing, maiming, and torturing people in order to get kids that were never real to begin with back, and she has become the most powerful being in this world and not even Doctor Strange can stop her. People tell her that she was justified brain washing and psychologically torturing people in a town for months on end, just so she can have a happy ending, and the only one that can defeat her is herself.
Every male character in this film is treated as a stupid arrogant incompetent person no matter if its Reed Richards*Mr Fantastic* or Charles Xavier themselves all in attempts to make Wanda look like a tragic anti-hero when she is not at all.
Woke Culture is taking its tole on us all when we want the characters and heroes we grew up with to stand and stop villains no matter what gender they are, and actually be inspiring. Now they are being replaced by pretenders that believe they are heroes because they spread THE MESSAGE Everywhere. Dont see this movie EVER!
Immortal 65 (2021)
This needs to be a series online NOW!
I'm going to say this loud and proud. This short film is GREAT. The action puts the Iron Fist show on Netflix to shame, and if this had a patreon donation to make this a series on YouTube or Hulu so Disney can't get their hands on it, I would gladly donate. In the short time he is on screen, Christian Howard does a fantastic job playing Orson Randall, PTSD, one liners, badassery on all accounts. Make this a series right now.
The Spectacular Now (2013)
Spectacular for all the wrong reasons :p
I had the chance to go see a different movie but wanted to be a good bf at the time and see this with my lady because I said to myself hey it cant be as bad as twilight right OOOHHHH MAN WAS I WRONG!! This movie is the most pretentious piece of crap I've ever seen in the theaters.
Imagine a movie where every single character is a stereotype and not even a good stereotype. Theirs the obvious popular jock, the obvious popular girl, the obvious weird girl who is nice, and the obvious arse hat that everyone is supposed to relate too
This story tries to tell a coming of age story when its just crappy cliché after crappy cliché you don't give a crap about any of the other characters because you know nothing about them to begin with.
Then the movie gives us the main character of Strutter keep in mind this is the guy that's the main character the guy who we are all supposed to relate too in that age of the high school days, when it turns out that he is the most unlikable character ever put in a movie. He just wants to live in the now and party and get @%#% faced all the time, his gf breaks up with him so he gets a new one who is the only likable character in the movie, he takes her virginity and what does he do you may ask? He tries to make his ex jealous and tells his best friend "Whatever doesn't matter to me" You can never tell if this guy is sober when hes talking to this girl or wasted because he asks her out to prom drunk and what does he give her for a gift not a corsage that's way to likable he gives her a flask yeah that's a catch right there. When they get to the prom he doesn't dance with her he dances with his ex right in front of her, wow just wow.
Their is also this subplot in the movie about him wanting to know what his dad is like when he finds out who he is what do you expect a degenerate who never gave a crap about him and when his gf gets hit by a bus how does he cope by going to bar to drink his troubles away. The movie is so lazy so unlikable that the ending of this film and I'm not even joking here it ends on the Edward Cullen and Bella Swan ocward stare.
The thing that pisses me off the most is that almost every review I've read on this movie says its a masterpiece when this is an incredibly unlikable movie from beginning to end. Never in my life have I ever wanted to walk out of film and punch the ticket counter to make him give me my money back for sitting through this hour and a half of torture never and I mean never watch this movie EEEEEVVVVEEEEERRR!!!!
Teen Titans Go! (2013)
you maniacs you killed it
Teen Titans was one of my all time favorite animated shows growing up. The characters were great, the comedy was great, the action was fantastic, the stories were top notched it was just amazing.
When I heard they were making another teen titans show, with all of the original cast members I got a fan boy happy. I tuned in to watch the first episode and my childhood was killed in an instance. This show killed everything that was wonderful about the original show and more.
While the original show focused on all parts that make a good animated show like action, comedy, drama, character development, all that good stuff this show just focuses on crappy sub par sitcom comedy thats painful to someones health to watch.
The animation is ugly it makes the bobble head commercials, look like animated shows themselves. The stories are not funny and most of them don't make sense at all, in one episode robin is trying to ask star fire out on a date and its just torture to watch.
The worst part that gets me is this "Why didn't they just continue from where the show left off." that would've made more money, the ratings for cartoon network would've been through the roof, and it just makes me sad this show is trying to appeal to younger generations of kids. The original Teen Titans was great kids got into it just fine, and they turned out fine.
Its like cartoon studios don't care about children's intelligence, and they think if they just put anything on the air, children will be okay with it because they think children are stupid. Its not just cartoon network doing this, its also Disney, nickelodeon, and other networks.
The more I think about it, the more I get angry. The final verdict for Teen Titans Go is a 2 out of 10 its pure garbage, if your a fan of the original show stay far away, and if you have kids don't slap them in the face if they turn it on, then buy them the original show on DVD and show them how awesome animated shows were back in the day.
Ultimate Spider-Man (2012)
what the hell is this
When The Spectacular Spiderman got canceled I was disappointed, but when I found out they were making another series called ultimate Spiderman, honestly I got a little excited. I thought this was going to be a show based off the ultimate Spiderman comic book series, which I own almost all of them and I got hopeful, that maybe this would make up for canceling spectacular Spiderman, but unfortunately this show is a disgrace. To any fan of the web head this show is a complete disaster on every level. This show takes a famous, honorable, funny, awesome character like Spiderman, and turns his life into a lame sitcom. This show does not take any fan seriously its trying to be like batman brave and the bold, but where that was charming, funny, and serious this is not. There are no funny jokes in this show, Spiderman makes 4th wall humor to the audience in every episode, their is no drama in Spiderman or peter's life about the dilemmas of being a superhero.
How do the stories hold up well surprise they suck. They are cookie cutter, slapped together stories that no one cares about, most of them don't make much sense at all.
The characters are weak, the villains are weak, Spiderman himself is weak. Thanks to Disney we have the worst interpretation of a beloved character.
You wanna know the worst part the worst part is, that kids everywhere that watch this crap are going to think, that Spiderman is nothing more then a desperate silly sitcom character, well Disney desperate is the perfect word to describe this show. It throws every bottom of the barrel joke, every crappy super hero cliché, every tired slapstick routine, and every over the top reaction in the sad hopes of getting a laugh, and not one of them works not one. Its animated horribly, its voice acted horribly, It has little to nothing to do with Spiderman, and the stuff it does have to do with Spiderman is a complete slap in the face, its just crap total total crap. My final verdict for ultimate Spiderman is my first 1 out of 10 and epic failure on every level. You wanna good Spiderman show watch the spectacular Spiderman or even the Spiderman animated series in the 90s anything is better then this.
Django Unchained (2012)
wwwhhyyyyyy
Before I talk about this god awful movie let me give you a little history. I was contemplating whether or not to see django unchained, or gangster squad since Im a fan of both western and mobster movies. I liked westerns more so I went to see django unchained, and after this movie I was left with a frown on my face. This movie is nothing to me but a cheap brand of cow manure, I have no idea why everyone said this movie was good. Okay let me name the flaws 1 this movie says, it takes place two years before the civil war and they are using winchester, and colt guns that weren't developed until the second year of the war. 2 this movie is nothing more then a dumbass in distress movie LAME. 3 its just a bunch of racist jokes and satire humor thats not funny. 4 django is not an interesting character he barely does anything all he does is travel around being the bounty hunters sidekick, he doesn't do anything really interesting until the last 3rd of the movie. 5 this is a Tarantino film and he has a lot of cool action scenes in his movies like pulp fiction, and inglorious bastards, in this film you have 2 count them with me 2 action scenes in this movie. The only characters I remember finding interesting were the bounty hunter, played by Christoph Waltz and the henchman played by Samuel L Jackson, they are interesting but they aren't enough to save the movie. If you guys liked this movie good for you, but me this movie felt like it was trying to be a western but failed in my opinion I give this movie a 2 and hope that people notice my words in this critique.
Jonah Hex (2010)
telling it like it is
Spoilers guys if you haven't seen this movie don't read this review. This movie is a horrendous hellhole! While on the surface the comics look like your garden variety westerns, in reality they're nothing but they were weird, unpredictable western tales of excitement. The movie is the complete opposite, while Josh Brolin does an excellent job playing Jonah Hex, everything around him is dull, generic, and predictable. Their are a grand total of two count them, TWO cool scenes in this movie and neither of them, take place near the climax. The only other exception to the blandness is Michael Fassbender, but his character isn't given enough screen time. Seriously all this movie did was remind of Wild Wild West, and how I wished I was watching a better western like Tombstone. I would gladly like a reboot to this movie with Josh Brolin still playing Hex. However can we please keep Megan Fox out of comic book movies, I can think of over a dozen sci fi fan boy, favorites that would be better for her role. Should I even bring up the superpowers in this movie, let me just say out of 20 years of comic books made for this character, Jonah Hex has never needed to rely on such nonsense, AND HE NEVER WILL! Seriously guys stick with the comics and the animated series and ride off into the sunset away from this crap.
