John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)

Love this chapter but..

I've watched chapter 1 to 3 several times and I still really enjoy them. This new chapter is good, but not as good as the previous three. It seems like they were trying too hard to add similar battles scenes from the previous films. The locations are amazing (it's amazing how he travels around the word so fast haha). Some of the fighting sequences were a bit too far fetches in my opinion compared to the other films. He's basically in "god" mode or all the people trying to kill him are former Storm Troopers. He falls from high balconies, off building, gets hit by several cars and even rolls down over 200 steps.. and still gets up like nothing. That "suit" of his must be highly padded to withstand all that abuse. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the film and I'll definitely watch it again.. it's just my least favourite of the 4.. and I love how they ended the film.. leaves it open to potentially more chapters or not.

Scrooge: A Christmas Carol (2022)

Wow!

My kids wanted to watch a Christmas movie together and I suggested this new one by Netflix. They said "oh.. another Scrooge movie?" I said "yeah, but it looks pretty good based on the trailer". Well, we were all pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed it! It's a new "modern" rendition of this timeless classic with a few new unexpected quirks which adds to enhance the story. Of course we quickly discovered it was a musical and to be honest, most of the songs were quite beautiful. If you go in watching this without expecting on being "blown" away, I think most kids (and parents) will enjoy it. We will likely add this film to our yearly viewings.

1899 (2022)

Wow!

This series is amazingly good and fascinating! Seriously, this is a mashup of Westworld, The Matrix, Inception, Dark and Interstellar! Probably one of the best series I've watched since Dark.

From beginning to end the story captures you're attention and keeps you guessing. Just when you think you've figured it out, they throw you a curve ball in the storyline.

This is creative geniuses at work and it's so well done. The special effects themselves are captivating.

I know I'm probably overhyping this review, but it's seriously THAT good.

I can't wait for the next season. Until then I'll probably re-watch the entire first season again.

Spriggan (2022)

Probably one of the best new anim series I've ever watched on Netflix. I know it's based off some other series or movie with the same name... just never heard of it. Well worth the watch imo if you're looking for something entertaining.

Teen Titans Go! & DC Super Hero Girls: Mayhem in the Multiverse (2022)

They almost gave up a few times watching it as it was primarily about the "Hero Girls" and barely about the "Teen Titans". It was obviously a gimmick to promote the "Hero Girls". (Even the Teen Titans themselves say in the film that they were barely in it) 🙄

The Matrix Resurrections (I) (2021)

Seriously, I enjoyed it more than I thought. It was a fitting chapter in the series. Was it as mind blowing as the first 3? Not really.. but I was still entertained and understood the reasoning and concept behind everything. I do hope it continues despite the minority who didn't enjoy it as much.

Wow wow wow! I've been waiting ever since RoTJ to see Luke again in his prime showing off how awesome he is as a Jedi! Got our first glimpse in Mando and now this! All I can say is FINALLY!!

Thank you Jon and Dave for making this happen!

This is what we needed after Episode 6!

Hope we get many many more tributes to Luke. I'm sure Mark is thrilled too!

No Time to Die (2021)

Solid 007 film. It was action packed and Daniel Greg never fails to impress.

My only gripe is I wished he could have retired peacefully at the end so he could help raise his daughter. But I guess his ultimate sacrifice had to happen so another "Bond" actor can continue the role.

I gave it a 5 cause it's Star Wars.. but honestly.. other than the amazing scenes that obviously make it "feel" like Star Wars that's it.. everything else falls short for me.

I don't get why Fett is a "nice guy" now and saying "sorry". I liked the mystery of him. The bikers seem out-of-place entirely.. like another universe. The music sounds like it's from a cheap tv series.

I'll probably keep watching.. cause I love Star Wars.. but I probably won't recommend this to anyone..

Sorry not sorry. I guess I was expecting something as good as Mando.

The Wheel of Time (2021– )

Very well made and worth watching

Having never read the books (yet), I went in watching this not knowing a single thing about the story. Well so far I've been very impressed at how well made and entertaining it's been so far. Perhaps it doesn't match, follow or stay completely faithful to the source material, but this is probably a completely different twist to the story and so far I'm loving it. I do plan on reading the books eventually. Perhaps my opinion change, however I doubt I will. Just watch it for what it is and enjoy it! Great series!

Cowboy Bebop (2021)

When I heard this was coming out I decided to binge watch the anime version before as I am an Anime fan. (Loved it)

I really enjoyed this live version of it despite the changes they made. I understand why as they needed a way to prolong the series. It's a new twist to a classic.

EDIT: Super annoyed that yes ANOTHER amazing series has been cancelled by Netflix. Hopefully another network/streaming service picks this gem up!

The Beatles: Get Back (2021– )

It's amazing to be able to see a glimpse at their combined creative geniuses at work. You can really tell that John and Paul were meant to be friends and write together.

The only part I cringed at was when Yoko was trying to sing.. or whatever she was trying to do 😉

Masters of the Universe: Revelation (2021)

He-Man? Are you there?

Seriously, I thought it was a decent attempt to a series.. and the animation was amazing! I had high expectations for this when I saw the previews!!

But.. where's He-Man? We got to see him in the 1st and last episode.. that's pretty much it.. and barely.. this was simply a story about the "Masters of the Universe"... the "power" was being passed around like candy..

Huge shame.. it had so much potential.

I still have this a 5 out of 10 cause I'm a diehard fan!

Final Space (2018–2021)

Seriously! This is an epic series!

Now.. why would they cancel such an excellent well rated series? Netflix needs to take ownership of this series and continue this amazing adventure!

Hopefully some Netflix executives read these reviews and make it happen!

I loved this series when it 1st started.. but seriously.. it's been progressively getting worse and worse.. after each episode we watch.. my wife and I cringe and ask ourselves.. why are we still watching this?

Seriously.. the storylines are all over the place and no longer makes sense.. unfortunately this show has to end.. we've stopped watching it.

Lucifer: Partners 'Til the End (2021) Season 6, Episode 10

Love Lucifer

Loved Lucifer! Loved the entire series and this ending... EXCEPT how everyone had their "happily ever after" while Lucifer was stuck (how?) in hell. Why was Amenediel (God 2.0) allowed on earth to be present at several family gatherings and his son's birthday and stuff while Lucifer was stuck in hell? He was able to before.. but now he has to miss his daughters birth and stuff.. He had to do this so she'd stay pissed at him until she went back in time?! Why couldn't she be happy and have her dad while growing up?! I'm sure Lucifer could have found "his calling" either way.. he was already on that path.

It was the only thing that made no sense to me.. Lucifer was denied his "happy ever after" until Cloe died of old age.. oh well.. part of the drama I guess. Still love the show!

I seriously thought this was going to be an amazing continuation of He-Man.. but unfortunately it was mostly about the supporting characters.. The animation was amazing.. but the story fell short of what I was expecting based on the trailers. Hopefully the 2nd part makes up for the so-so 1st part. I really do want this series to succeed!

Even after reading all the negative reviews.. I didn't want to believe them and was actually hoping it would be a omewhat worthwhile to watch.. wow was I ever mistaken.. it was very painful to watch from the beginning to the end.. so bad... I watched this with my daughter and she thought we were watching a Hallmark made for TV movie! Lol

No disrespect to the cast.. but the Netflix tv series was a 100 times better and the cast was spot on. (Despite the first season being a bit cheesy.. wish it wasn't cancelled as the story telling was so much better)

Why was this series cancelled? Sure it's not the "best" series in the world, however it's good enough to keep going. Season 1 wasn't the greatest.. but it slowly got better as time went by. This series reminds me of Lucifer. It started slow.. but gradually got better and better.. and thanks to fans it kept on going!

I'm really hoping fans can push Netflix for a few more seasons! 🤞

Probably the best animated series I've ever watched. A true masterpiece in its truest form. (and it's based off an awesome video game series)

I'm very saddened the series has come to an end despite the perfect ending.

Hopefully they will decide to continue the series!

My wife and I found ourselves cringing 3/4 of the time while watching this movie. It felt like everything was forced just to try and make it seem funny. The trailer seemed funnier.
