The most memorable thing will be the scenery
6 May 2024
The build up to this movie was good and showed alot of promise but unfortunately it didn't lead anywhere Slow and un memorable. Denzal was great as usual, but this was just a nothing movie, boring story line, the baddies weren't even particularly interesting baddies, they were far too easily picked off, there wasn't enough personal interaction between Denzal and the locals for him to care so much, and the final confrontation was a bit of a wet weekend. Very disappointing for the last film in the trilogy, this is only the next morning and I can't even remember half of the movie, not a good sign.

Oh dear, and after the wee donkey too!

The whole of this series wasn't a patch on the others, but still worth watching for the lovely Steve, Kate and of course superintendent Hastings. But this final episode was just dire! Really rubbish ending kept waiting for something more exciting to happen but it just simply didn't sooooo disappointing!

Enthalling drama

Excellent drama from start to finish, binge wached most of it as the time went over so quick, just kept wanting to watch the next one. Acting excellent, loved all the characters and how they intwined with each other. The forensic science part of it all was interesting and added to the whole feel of the drama. Being set in Dundee adds to the whole plot and atmosphere. Simply great drama

Enjoyed every minute of this film, great acting, great music, lovely story. A little different from the run of the mill christmas film, romantic but not corny, and funny but not slap stick. Think even my partner would have liked it and he hates romantic christmas films. So think i might just have to watch it again with him.

Dreadful

Gave this drivel 40 mins of my time, bad acting by all apart from cherly ladd who is obviously the only professional actor in this. Maybe a 15 year old teenager would find it appealing with all the squealing and childish banter, but then that's a bit of an insult to teenagers. Avoid

A fitting finale

Me and my partner must be in the minority that we didn't watch GOT the first time round. We have binge watched it throughout lock down. The whole 8 series were amazing. Granted series 8 was definitely not as good as the previous 7, but for people to give it 1/10 is simply ridiculous. Yes we could all have wished for a bit better ending but it was still epic! It must have been quite insulting for all the actors/producers etc to see all these negative reviews. I wonder if we saw it a little different as we watched all over a few months whereas most people waited a year in between each series and their expectations changed with anticipation. I dont think this episode deserved a 10 maybe a 7 but i gave it a 10 to try in vain to balance the ratings out. Oh GOT how we will miss you

I loved the originals of 'all creatures' and didn't think this new one could touch it, but i would go as far as to say it is even better, all the actors are fabulous and you love them all from the start. The scenery is beautiful as are the cast and animals! Dont want it to end when im watching

Harlow (I) (1965)

Interesting but mostly fictional

Warning: Spoilers
I gave this movie a 7 purely because i enjoyed it, but on reflection reading all about Jean Harlow and the real story of her life (I didn't really know anything about her apart from she was a very successful actress in the 30s) it is in fact a terrible movie as hardly anything in it is the true version of events, it shouldn't even have used her name and just been a soap about a blonde actress of the time. Would be great remade now - but the real story!

Intriguing and enthralling

A very interesting and clever plot, great acting and good solid story that until the last half hour of the last episode you didn't quite know how it would play out. Lovely scenery and nice city shots and great to see a proper satisfying ending.

Oh dear!

Sorry persivered til episode 4, but gave up less than half way through, was really looking forward to this and it could have been so good. Have i missed something, but is this really just all supposed to be happening a few days after losing electricity! I live in the northeast of England and some how dont think people would be behaving in this way after such a short time! Yes maybe weeks/months later its, a bit insulting to make out we would all become thugs and take the law into our own hands! Its like a bad b movie on the sci fi channel! Only gave it 2 as i like Robert Caryle

Will the worm turn

I cant say i enjoyed this first episode, but it was entertaining, i found his angst and bewilderment excruciating, and felt really sorry for him. I can see where the next episode is heading, and am sure many viewers can identify with this kind of behaviour in the workplace. Fair enough this is extreme for drama purposes but not -so far unbelievable.
