Fable (2004)
For every bad choice...the game reloads.
Do not take this the wrong way. I'm not really disappointed at the game. I believe it performs well as evidenced by the excellent graphics, the musical score, the voice-overs and yes, story (short and childish as it may be.)What did you expect? Its called Fable.
The advantages overcome the cons only by a hair. However, the game fails to deliver when it comes to fulfilling its tag line
"For every choice a consequence."
yeah, Right. To say that this game gives you freedom is an exaggeration. I've seen better freedom in games like Fallouts 1&2 and Morrowind. There is rarely a chance to do great evil in the game (like chopping off the head of someone you were supposed to rescue and showing it to the person whos looking for them, now thats evil.) Instead evil is gained by randomly killing innocents which is kinda boring. And i got the feeling that it doesn't really reward evil that much. I'm sorry but Fable is just too short and limiting when it comes to quests and side-quests.
However, this game almost seems like a breath of fresh air from other RPGs out there today and it deserves a pat in the back.
this game gets 8 outta 10 quest cards for me.
Happy Lesson (2002)
Generic Anime Comedy
Heres another typical anime comedy.
Orphaned high-school guy ends up with his parents house. He later finds out he has to live with 5 women (all with varying personalities) who also happen to be his teachers in school. What happens next can be judged by your tastes. If your the type who likes Love Hina, Tenchi Muyo and etc, this is for you. The animation is good, although i think the characters eyes stand out a bit too much. English voice acting is TERRIBLE.(Chitose is pronounced and Chee-tow-say, not Cheetoes, Jesus_ Watch this series w/ subtitles and with the original Japanese voice-acting you might even pick up some Nihonggo while you're at it.
6 mamas outta 10. Not for everybody
Rabu Hina (2000)
A must for any anime fan
My first reaction to this anime would be "What the hell is this crap"
BUT......
After a few episodes it grows into you. The animation is really well done, crisp and full of detail. The English dubbing isn't bad, its not good but it doesn't suffer from the translation. I kinda liked how they gave Kitsune this southern accent to make her different which she truly is (she speaks with a Kansai accent in Japanese) so I'm glad they added this tiny detail in the English dub. The soundtrack isn't half-bad too. this is a great example of a series that has boosted its potential through a good soundtrack.
The story is well written and is at times faithful to the manga, although i personally disliked the Moe-chan episode. You are led to pity Keitaro Urashima and how his luck ebbs and tides as his days go by in the Hinata Inn. The show gives us a little more insight into Japanese culture and life. (why the hell do they love bathing so much?)
The anime and manga are a must-see for any otaku out there.
Yu-Gi-Oh! (2000)
Have Mercy on your kids
This cartoon is pure trash. Every episode is predictable. The challenges in the story are non-existent as the freaky hero guy who looks like he got mauled by the Fab 5 seems to have the upper hand in every battle. Every episode is just him and his opponent grabbing cards, yapping their jaws and throwing whatever manure that comes out of their dulled wits. oh, aside form the Gathering What THE HELL IS SO EXCITING ABOUT CARD BATTLES???
The only thing salvageable from this burning wreck of garbage is that the monster designs are at the very least decently done. Most of them are pretty (or scary?) enough to hold the attention of a 5 year old. I pity those who find this enjoyable. there are better anime shows out there.
and so this sad excuse for an anime belongs to the same mountain of trash like beyblade and dragonball. So sad what kids are watching these days..
this gets 0 balls of dung out of a 100. it just inst worth it.
