Great Acting, Bad Movie
3 February 2023
Quinn actually brought tears to my eyes with his heart-felt performance; others were pretty good, too.

However, this movie wasn't well delivered. There was no real introduction nor flushing out the family members who are later haphazardly presented to us as relevant. At first, I wasn't sure who was who. The writers and/or director could have offered us insight into their roles in the family dynamic early in the story, prior to the accident, rather than waste time later with football and cheerleader scenes that don't contribute. -"Don't contribute," you might think, "Isn't it a football movie?" Hard to say; they didn't quite seem to know want kind of movie they were aiming for.

Not winning any awards
22 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This film is a fine way to spend a couple hours on a rainy day, but it's not great. It's a cliche Mary-Sue fighter's story.

It is basically a big advertisement for Brazilian jiu-jitsu - but, at the same time, it fails as advertisement.

How?

  • SPOILER AHEAD-
Since his training focus has solely been grappling, In the final match, he loses his sight and is beaten into a coma because he doesn't know how to protect his head.

Telling not showing
20 April 2020
It has some sweet moments. But, it certainly doesn't follow the rule of "show, don't tell."

It's for little kids
17 March 2017
It's for little kids.

That's really all the review you need.

My four year old watches it, and loves it. And, it is appropriate for her age level - it has nothing for me to be concerned about her seeing.

Some adults have offered unfavourable reviews, but, they are being ridiculous, as it is obviously not to be judged on whether or not adults enjoy the show; children are it's target audience.

Your kid will like it, and that's all that matters.
