The Mountain Between Us (2017)
Pretty good
Although it is quite predictable, i must say this was a quite nice afternoon movie. I hadn't any expectations, but i wasn't bored. Keeps you on the edge of your seat, are they going to make it?
I would have given the movie a solid 7 but the excellent ending made it a steady 8.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)
Weird humor and bad script, just for entertainment purposes worth watching
It is a sequel, and it shows in the movie. The quality of this kingsman cannot keep up with the standards of the first movie.
It can keep you entertained with weird action scenes, filmed that it just screams 'fake', but OK, you cannot expect that much from this kind.
there are a few well-known actors starring, like Elton John. But it doesn't add much more to it.
It can keep you entertained for the 2 hours, but you won't be so keen on watching it again
47 Meters Down (2017)
all right to watch, just don't expect too much
First off, the film is not that bad, if you've got nothing else to watch and want to pass 90 minutes without expectations that are set too high, you won't be disappointed.
There are quite a few moments you notice the lack of budget for this the film, therefore 80 percent is just set in the cage on the 'seabed'.
The film starts pretty cliché with some -boyfriend has left me- opening scenes. Switching over to the boat, it is obvious that something very bad is going to happen, copying the dreadful atmosphere of a cheap horror movie. Nevertheless once sank to the bottom, the film is getting gradually better. There is a lot of suspense from then on, some unexpected plot twists which keep the viewers' interest until the end, and a double but well-executed end. Of course, thinking things too much through, you know that this film cannot pass a reality test. The diving equipment would have failed within minutes at that depth with such a mask, the tanks would be empty in 5 to 15 minutes max, and other things are debatable.
But you don't watch this film as an instruction how to dive. Final thought: Better than expected, just not that great.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016)
Fantastic Movie
Filming is beautifully done, acting superb, humor everywhere. Fantastic imagination and script by JK Rowling.
Of course, we would have loved to see our old group back on the screen, but alas, that wasn't possible. At least we can emerge our self again into the magic world, and get to meet Newt Scamander, a very interesting character. The best role is, though, the NO-MAJ. We fall in love with him the second he appears on our screen. But most of all, we want that fantastic beast who loves those shiny things.
Very well done, gets a smile on our face again. We are impatient for the next 4 parts.
De Premier (2016)
Strong plot
I did not expect too much from this film, but I was pleasantly surprised. Erik Van Looy did a good job on this one. The film takes you on a ride, right from the start, no boring moments. The superb acting from Koen De Bouw makes it very interesting to watch. You will have to guess until the end where the plot is going. 10 minutes before the end, I thought I would be disappointed with how I thought it would end,- because I don't like open, half finished ends,- but they did manage to give it a proper ending, good! If you don't like bloody, raw films, this is probably not the one to watch for you. Otherwise, go and watch this one!
