Creepshow: Mums/Queen Bee (2021)
Ethan Embry clearly the only actor in the mums segment.
The acting except of Ethan Embry is completly horrendous. Without E. E it would drag it down to 1 star at max. The story and effects aren't even that bad for this show quality/budget. So go figure.
Black as Night (2021)
Decent colorgrading and location shots,
But everything is else was extremly bad, blaxploitation are typically a bad mess but this one took it to a new all low.
Skip it!
Midnight Mass (2021)
Started interesting...
But just got boring so fast, it al so melodramatic with really not more then 5 min of "horror" total thru 7 hours of dialogue. Way to slow paced for me and i love that normaly if there is substance enough.
I praised The Haunting Bly More to early because of Mr Flanagan and his previews work but was a let down for me pretty soon after all. And its clearly getting worse.
I hope he will get back to making compelling horror again in the future.
The Voyeurs (2021)
Consistently boring all way through
Starts boring and never really get's passed it. Mediocre, blend ''twist'' at the end and atleast 1 hour to long. Could be fine if cut back to 20/30 min total for a anthology drama/thrillerserie.
Watch the first 10 min and the last 20 if you have some time on hands. Otherwise skip all together.
Ojing-eo geim (2021)
Love it
Compelling, iam have way thru didn't got boring once so far. Nice designs, graphics and characters. Worth the watch for sure.
Malignant (2021)
As a fan of horror
There isn't really that much decent horror releases these days so this was a nice surprise. I'm not that fond on his jumpscare movies Insidious and Conjuring.
This is more in the likening of dead silence a easy to watch gory slasher with a bit of body horror and a sparkle of supernatural.
His cinematography is on par as always.
Hope he will stick with horror for a long time and good to see he didn't lost it.
It's no oscar movie but definitely worth a watch and a must for the horror buff.
Monsterland (2020)
Felt like i missed every single episodes end.
I found the start and concept of most episodes somehow interesting but they all ended abruptly leaving you complete unsatisfied every single time.
5/10
The Wolf of Snow Hollow (2020)
Just a fun ride
It's hard to come across some decent horror flicks, so this one was a nice surprise. Light, funny and with some graphic moments.
7/10
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Well its Mike Flanagan and horror, so what would could go wrong
Exactly, nothing much more then yet another compelling story. To be fair when it comes down to horror i can be a bit bias certainly when directors as fine as mr. Flanagan are involved wich whom ive been tracking for quite some years now.
So far after second episode the writing yet again awesome, acting is superb, the little boy in particular is just fantastic. Just the whole ambiance like in first season is back. Love it!
9/10
Hubie Halloween (2020)
Visual embodiment of the R word.
This movie feels more offensive because instead of spewing the r-word Adam plays one.......again.
Allot of pretty decent well known actors, but cheap jokes wich fall flat even after ingesting a furious amount of marihuana. Perhaps meth would have been the better choice...Anyway its not Adam Sandler best work and i think that should suffice enough.
4/10 Clean
5/10 If completely high
