Hollywood preaches to us while worshiping Satan!
I was excited for this show. But after watching it, I've realized it's complete social justice propaganda. Come on, are you trying to preach to us that "white patriarchy is bad" (and basically any current issue that mad liberals yap about today) but being a witch for Satan is okay....just because you're a woman? Please.
They should have focused on trying to make the show entertaining rather than trying to spread social justice B.S. Because truly, even without the social justice elements, this show would still be terrible. The acting is wooden, and you just don't care for any of the characters, and want them to die quickly so the show would be done with, and you get on with your life. The plot is very thin and predictable. You couldn't care less where the story goes or how it ends.
I really wish I hadn't watched this. If you haven't, I suggest you don't. Go re-watch the great Netflix originals like Daredevil S1-3 or Narcos.
Jurassic World (2015)
Fun film but fails to give us the wonder the original film did
This movie is supposed to be a sequel to the original Jurassic Park, but it seems to be more of a reboot. Its core message remains the same, don't mess with nature. In the original, we were treated to not only great CGI and special effects, but very memorable characters and great acting. This time around, the acting is the worst part of the movie. I was disappointed with Chris Pratt's performance as the Velociraptor trainer was very wooden, a bad mix of trying to be seen as a fierce hunter and a source of some funny one-liners. Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson are supposed to play brothers, but do a terrible job of it, making it seem like they just met that very day. But the worst performance of the film would be Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing, the park operations manager. I could not tell what her character's role in the film was other than to look shocked at the events of the film. And she had no chemistry with Pratt's character, their romance seemed forced, and quite unnecessary. There are also a few misplaced scenes in the movie. In one of them, the younger Mitchell brother confides to his elder of his worry that his parents might divorce and his brother comforts him. The scene is completely redundant. It does not add to the characters' personalities nor does it have any bearing on the rest of the movie, as his parents' have very little screen time anyway. With all these flaws, why do I give this movie 8 stars? It is because the effects and action in this movie are so incredible that they eclipse the bad acting and corny attempts at touching our emotions. Really, the dinosaurs look so real, and the way the action scenes are directed, you feel as they might just burst out of the screen any second. Watch out for one particular scene with the mosasaur(the big water dinosaur) and pteranodons(the flying ones). After all, if you're planning to watch this movie, you're going to be more concerned whether the dinosaurs kick ass more than anything else. I have no regrets watching this in the cinema, it's a good summer blockbuster. But will it have the same cultural impact Jurassic Park had? No. In a few months, everyone will forget about Jurassic World and go back to watching Spielberg's original.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: S.O.S. Part 2 (2015)
Is this the greatest AOS episode ever produced?
So far, this episode is the highest rated production of anything Marvel has ever produced on IMDb. And it is with good reason that it is so.
This episode kept my heart pumping for a whole 45 minutes. Finally, after a terrific seconds season, we get the answers that we've been waiting for. And terrific closure too. Finally, Fitz gets the balls to ask Simmons out, finally, the Skye- Cal relationship comes to a very satisfying close, finally, do we see Ward come back Villain- In- Chief.
It may be not be of Shakespearean proportions, but it is sure good fun to watch, and that I believe, is what Marvel's true spirit is about.
And a note to AOS fans, the current rating of the show on IMDb is 7.5, much too low. I believe this is because the first few episodes were not that great, but the show has really picked up steam since then. So if you gave a low rating then but you love the show now, do remember to change your rating.
M*A*S*H: Bulletin Board (1975)
Soulless episode
I love watching MASH and I have never written a review for any of its episodes so far, but I couldn't hold it in for this episode. It is the worst episode of MASH,period. It isn't about anything, just a mash up of dumb events. A few gag here and there, but lacking its usual soul. They actually spent 5 minutes covering the games between the orphans and the MASH guys. And a few minutes on that dumb movie. The writers really ran out of ideas for this one. I hope people who watch this episode won't get a bad idea of the whole show, the other episodes are mostly funny. At one point, it gets so dull that Frank and Hot Lips get into a pointless argument about money. Frank lacks his usual annoying air this time. And that's for the worst. Simply because his annoying air is what makes me want to watch MASH in the first place.
The Godfather (1972)
A tour de force of cinema
Since I was a small boy, whenever I heard of others talking of the greatest movies ever made, The Godfather always came up,most of the time, at the top. I always thought that the movie was overrated, that is, until watched it two years ago.
How to tell if a movie is good? If you can't stop thinking about it, if you keep replaying the characters' lines in your sleep, then the movie isn't just good, it's great. The Godfather's impact on the movie industry is incalculable, in almost ever modern gangster movie there is at least one reference to it.
I can find no flaw in this movie. If there were anything such as a 'perfect' movie, this is it. Coppola provides excellent direction such that though the movie stretches to almost three hours, you won't be bored for one minute.
The highlight of this film is an innovation. The gangsters here are not portrayed as mindless monsters but as men with families. We see Vito and Michael Corleone as protagonists rather than antagonists. Credit for this goes to Mario Puzo's original source material but let us not forget the actors.
Marlon Brando gives the greatest performance of not only his career but of any other actor as the family patriarch. He's so Don-like that you just wished you could go to him with all your problems too. Al Pacino plays Michael Corleone. But he doesn't give a single performance, he gives two. At the beginning, he plays a war hero who doesn't want anything to do with the family business. Pacino skillfully shows us Michael's transition from this to a cold blooded Don at the end. The other actors play their parts well too. In fact, there has never been any other better cast than the cast of The Godfather.
A cinematic masterpiece, this is one for the ages.
Les Misérables (2012)
SInging at every chance is not always a good thing
At the start of the movie , everything seems great, there's a great song with Hugh Jackman. Then realize everyone has conversations in a tune. Its not even called singing, they just added a lousy tune to their words. Though, this is the only flaw in the movie. The cast is simply superb with Jackman giving his best along Hathaway. The plot and story is also wonderful about the amount suffering a man has to go through just because he stole a loaf of bread. But unfortunately, this is not enough and like a small virus, this destroys the movie. How can this be? I do not know but i do know that the great expectations I had were crushed.Do not get me wrong, I like musicals but this is not my type.
