Maysville (2021)
You Can't Get It Back
The time wasted watching this "film" - you can never get it back.
I'm in my 50's and I have seen some bad films in my day, but I think this ranks as the WORST. The story line is ridiculous. The screenplay could have been written by a high-school teen. Every corny line and trope is in this film. They drop like dead flies. And talk about slow moving - I actually debated whether I should finish the "film" or go rub ground glass into my eyes. I didn't have any ground glass, so I stuck out the film. Still not sure if that was the smartest choice.
Beyond the disjointed plot elements - there are continuity problems all over the place. Like the fact that this is supposed to take place in Appalachia, but there are no hills or mountains and the local company truck the kid drives around in has Kansas plates.
Seriously, RUN AWAY! RUN!
Don't Look Up (2021)
NOPE
This was just boring. I fell asleep about 3/4 of the way into it which is very rare for me with nay movie. It wasn't very clever. Once you got the "shtick", it was all pretty predictable. There are a few humorous lines and situations, but overall a "C" at best.

Could Not be Worse
This is painful to watch. Everyone involved with making this film surely participated in some sort of shame-induced mass suicide, so we will never know what motivated them to "create" such an awful film. The acting could not be worse. Seriously, I think it would be nearly impossible for a professional actor to ACT at trying to act this badly. I will never be able to erase the image of Kurt Thomas hoping onto what appears to be a ancient stone pommel horse that just happens to be in a 3rd world village so he can wipe out a band of bad guys who purposefully walk into his flaring legs to be "knocked out". OMG, I think an aneurysm is forming in my brain just recounting how awful this film is.
Animals (2012)
I liked it, but don't know why
This is a very odd film, and my reaction to it is also odd. Everything about it tells me that I would probably not like it, but I did. I like movies that affect me emotionally, and this did. There is a beautiful gentleness to this film which is oddly juxtaposed with not-so-beautiful teen angst and realities. The film left me with a lot of questions and I think I'm going to have to see it again to sort some of it out. Be open - give it a chance. Probably best to watch it when you are looking for something entirely different.
