Bloodwings: Pumpkinhead's Revenge (1995)
Weird, Yet Scary PC Game
I've been a gamer for some years now, and I feel like I'm one of the very few who own this really nice game based on the Pumpkinhead series. It's a first person shooter, but not the same old "get the key and kill everyone", Doom style. It's a much more refined game, I'd say (graphics aren't a big thing if compared to today's games, but the soundtrack is still really scary). You will find some enemies throughout your path in really dark mazes where you can, if touching its walls, enter into another dimension and be ported to another place. That's very original if you ask me. As you kill the enemies, you can enter a different dimension to get energy. You use this energy in screens hidden throughout the maze. In these screens, different scenes of the movie Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings will play, and your objective is to take things that appear in scenes, like a wallet, a gun, an ID, or anything you could actually use throughout your journey. I never completed this game since I got stuck in it, but as far as I've played, it's worth your dollars. If you can find this little game somewhere, buy it and have some fun.
Nickelback: Live at Home (2002)
Awesome DVD!
I'm a big fan of Nickelback albums, high quality hard rock! This is
is also a top quality DVD! The sound has 2.0 and 5.1 possibilities, the image is very clean,
cameras are perfect (some songs have multi-angle cameras),
and the show includes 15 hits from the band, great songs. Extras
are awesome too. Too Bad, This Is How You Remind Me and
Leader Of Men videos, Too Bad video making-of, behind the
scenes footage and everything else you would expect from a
music DVD - including guest appearances. Too bad this show
happened before the release of their awesome album The Long
Road, so songs like Someday and Feelin' Way Too Damn Good
aren't available. 9/10
Dobutsu no mori (2001)
The Best Game Ever
You may have played The Sims or Harvest Moon, but you have no
idea how perfect Animal Crossing is.
At first, I thought this game was kiddy too... Come on, how many
games nowadays don't have a little bit of violence? The graphics
looked bad and childish, but... I gave it a try.
Let me just put in this way: I played this game for about two hours
every single day for a year and I never, ever got tired or sick of it.
The replay value is infinite, you never run out of things to do.
There's always someone to talk to, some insects, fish, furniture or
clothing to collect... You must be really careful, because this game
leaves you addicted to it like no other. You may spend more time
living your virtual life than your real life and you won't even notice.
Now that you've been warned, I suggest you to play this one, the
best game ever made.
Silent Hill (1999)
The Scariest Game Ever
I've played many horror games, probably most of them... But no video game is scary like this one, Silent Hill...
The story tells about a man called Harry Mason who travels to a city called Silent Hill with his daughter Cheryl. On his way to the town, a very mysterious girl tries to cross the road, so Harry crashes his car. When he wakes up, some very dense fog has taken the entire place... His daughter isn't there with him, he's alone in something like a ghost town... Could this be... Silent Hill?
Graphics in this game aren't great, even for PSOne... Soundtrack isn't great, it's much more about the noises... But the Main Titles are a masterpiece. What makes this game so scary is the story...
Everything fits, and you feel really lost, not knowing what's going on... But you feel like it's something really big, something... wordless. There are multiple endings, but the boss itself isn't very great... But, still, this is the ultimate choice if you want to get really scared with a joystick in your hands.
Big Money Hustlas (2000)
Ridiculous - But Funny As Heck!
Insane Clown Posse and Twiztid are surely among the world's most hated music groups ever (Insane Clown Posse is, according to the Blender Magazine, the worst band ever), and Big Money Hu$tla$ is their first movie.
This movie was made by Juggalos and for Juggalos. If you're not a Juggalo (if you don't know what a Juggalo is, it means you are not one of them), you'll probably hate this movie. It is surely the most ridiculous comedy movie I have ever seen in my entire life, but, being so stupid, it gets interesting and very funny.
The story is about a cop called Sugar Bear (ICP's Shaggy 2 Dope) who just moved to New York and wants a job in the NYPD. Since it is said that he has amazing skills, he's hired. The big problem in NYC is a gangster named Big Baby Sweets (ICP's Violent J), who has three assistants: Big Stank (Twiztid's Jamie Madrox), Lil' Poot (Twiztid's Monoxide Child) and Hack Benjamin (Violent J's brother Jumpsteady). The first two are the funniest guys in the movie, and the third one is a guy who looks like Star Wars' Darth Vader, and kills everybody who doesn't respect Big Baby Sweets and his money. Being that way, Sugar Bear must show if he's really "the man", if he indeed has the skills to take Big Baby Sweets and his gang off NYC's underground.
Again, if you're not a big fan of those guys already, your chances of enjoying this movie are minimal, since the humor is very, very dirty and ridiculous. It is not meant for most people - just like those guy's music.
Bio Hazard (1996)
The Best Survival Horror Video game Ever
The story tells that people were strangely disappearing in the Arklay Mountains, northwest Raccoon City. Half of the S.T.A.R.S., a police group who's always hired when things go really bad, goes in to investigate, but they don't come back. That's when the rest of the group come to Arklay Mountains to see what's happening to those missing people and to the missing part of the team... They would just wish they were never born.
Resident Evil is a classic video game series. Unfortunately, the first movie wasn't nearly as good as any of the main games from the series.
This first version of Resident Evil/Biohazard, is the best one yet in my opinion. The graphics might not be great since most of us own next-gen consoles like PS2, Xbox and GCN, but they're still decent.
The soundtrack is amazing, voice acting is a little weird and a little silly, but it's OK. Videogames aren't about how close to reality it looks and feels. If it was, games from the past would be forgotten very quickly. What makes horror games special is how fun and scary they are, and this, along with Silent Hill, is the best horror game you'll ever play.
Zeruda no densetsu: Toki no okarina (1998)
Best Adventure/RPG Game Ever
The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time can't be reviewed, can't be described... Much like many other masterpieces, you have to play it to know what it's all about.
This game has the best soundtrack I've ever listened, including movie soundtracks, game soundtracks, everything else, this is flawless. Sound effects are nice, and there's minimal voice acting.
Along with the soundtrack, graphics and story are very special...
Whatever the greatest things are in this game, the important is that it's nearly flawless technically and highly, highly fun to play, with a perfect difficulty - not that easy, not that hard. There aren't bonus modes or anything, but you'll beat this game half dozen times without getting tired of it, because it's an immortal classic in video game history.
This game makes you cry, makes you happy, makes you scared, makes you get really tense... Just like movie masterpieces. Even if you aren't much of a gamer, you should give this game a try. It's an amazing game, everyone should try it once.
Night of the Living Dead (1990)
Is This The Best Zombie Movie Ever?
It probably is. I don't know what you cinema fans think, but I think this remake is even better than George Romero's original movie from 1968. When the original Night Of The Living dead came out, it was very scary, and also original... Even though nowadays zombie movies aren't the most original things ever, this one is probably the best one out there.
The story is the same from the 1968 movie. Seven people are trapped in a house, and out there, just zombies, lots of them. It looks like some radioactive disaster has happened, so all the dead are now back to life, and they are looking for food - human brains.
Tom Savini has always done an excellent job by doing make-ups in horror movies, and now he shows himself as a very good director (make-up is another important aspect in zombie movies, and it was done well in this one). The movie isn't very original, and it doesn't have anything that makes it so good, but when you watch it, you'll agree with me... It's a fun movie to watch, and being this way, I consider it the best zombie movie ever made.
The Evil Dead (1981)
The Best Movie Ever
I can't explain how awesome this movie is. It tells a story about five teenagers who go to a cabin in the middle of the woods. They intend to have lots of fun in there, but that's not exactly what happens... While looking in the cabin's basement, they find a weird book, which happens to be the Book Of The Dead, a book bound in human flesh and inked in blood; and also a tape. Upon playing the tape, they awake the Kandarian demons in the woods... Will any of them survive? Sam Raimi has done an incredible job as a director, with a perfect camera work, lots of blood and gore, great story... Perfection.
Acting isn't the best thing (Bruce Campbell hasn't mastered his acting gift yet), but nothing so bad that adds any demerits to the movie.
If you like movies, and you probably do, this is a must-watch, for any cinema fan who can handle a very scary and bloody movie.
