Hell's End (2005)
performance of a generation
I don't know about anybody else, but I thought that Kane Miller's portrayal of Trench Soldier was the by far the highlight of the picture. The hard work and preparation that went into his transformation was the kind that makes grown men cry; that makes rich women beg and poor girls steal. They say that he spent 10 hours a day in a trench simulator, for 8 weeks straight. That's the kind of dedication you can't find at the local Bed Bath and Beyond... it's a special breed. This guys gonna be a rock'n'roll superstar, no doubt. In fact, I hear he drives a really really fast car. You could tell he really put his soul out there for this role. And he proves beyond a doubt, that there's one thing that separates the men from the boys, that makes or breaks a performance... sweat.
Demonicus (2001)
seriously
okay, this movie f*ck in' rules. it is without question one of the most technically inept pieces of cinema ever made. absolutely terrible, but you GOTTA see it. rent this with your buddies and come up with a drinking game or just have fun, it's hilarious. and the behind-the-scenes featurette proves it, you can do anything with paper plates and finger paint. awesome. okay, rent it just for this one scene: two characters are actually WALKING IN PLACE for about 3 minutes in a shot. the director (on the commentary) says "yeah, the tracking was so smooth it looks like they're...". yeah, right man, they are totally walking in place. it's so funny.
