Netflix You Got it Wrong Once Again!
24 February 2024
I can not believe Netfix isn't picking up more seasons with this great, raunchy, sincere show with a heart! Because that's exactly what it is and we need more of these shows for us adults!

Netflix, I use to depend on you for great adult content shows that other studios do not pick up due to their hypocritical, stupid, conservative rich class views of what America should watch! I got news for you, that group are more freaky & raunchy than this show and I guarantee you they are not close to sincere and have shriveled black evil hearts! You messed up. This show should've had at least a minimum of 3 seasons like you always do to great adult themed shows before you pull the carpets from under them without warning or hesitation.

I changed my my rating from 8 to 10 for this show Obliterated only because it made me laugh so hard and made me feel so happy us adults still get these shows in this day and age. But Netflix you get a BIG FAT ZERO from me! You're dumb for not picking up season 2.

Stick to Comedy
13 January 2024
Kevin Hart is not a funny guy now, he wants to be a cool action hero who's calm, serious, collect, and always gets the girl at the end. Please give me back the funny, over the top, short, and imperfect Kevin Hart. You know, the one that made me laugh! Why do most comedians want to do drama and serious actors want to be comedians? Seeing Hart in this role just isn't a good fit. He doesn't fit the profile. It all feels forced like he's trying way too hard. I get that he makes tons of money now and he can produce himself in any role he wants, but none of it matters if the actor can't pull off the role. And trust me, after seeing this movie, he just can't pull it off!

Hitmen (II) (2023)

Boring & Pace is Slower than a Snail.
7 October 2023
This movie has so many narration setup on every Hitmen introduced in the beginning, it got so utterly boring after 15 minutes of it, I had to fast forward each scene just to get to the point of the story. It's just too much detail and info that we don't need. I feel an amateur director at work here. It's like the director is trying way to hard to show his audience his styles and trademarks, but it's just not good enough.

Then there's the pacing of this story and the music too, it's almost purposely wanting to be slow paced so every mundane details of each scene is captured and conveyed to the audience. Also the use of slow motion is just overkill, it just ended up being one boring movie with countless overdrawn scenes it never needed to tell the story. I realized this director's trademark is being anal. Yep, director may think he's making art but he's really making the audience bored to death!

The trailer was good enough to hook me in because I really like these genre of hitmen movies, like Collateral or the classics Leon: The Professional and La Femme Nikita. Comedy or drama, I just want to see how the action scenes look like, the choreography of fight and gun scenes. This movie had none of it. Just one boring scene after another. You can be good anal, but pick the right scene to do so because nowadays the audience gets bored and lose their interest really fast! 5 stars only because a few scenes made me laugh but I'm being really generous here.

It's a Great Show But Not for Everyone
19 December 2022
This has got to be the weirdest tv show I've ever watched. I credit the writers for such creative ideas each episode produces. But as I said this show is not for everyone. Just like a $250.00 bottle of Dom Perignon, it's an acquired taste. Why? Because it's so weird, morbid, and heavy at times, some just won't understand it, or find it too much and out of the ordinary. So for the ones who get it (like myself) then keep on reading.

This series has such originality & wit, one can't help but laugh and love this show. Yes, it's a group of superheros but this isn't a typical superhero show, instead it's a show about a group of characters with lots of adult psychological problems and at times goes very deep, so without giving too much away, lets just say although this show has superheroes & a few kids in each episode, the show however, is no way intended for kids. It's intended for mature audience due to a lot of adult themed contents. There is profanity in almost all the episodes and some nudity in others. If I had kids, I wouldn't watch it when they're around.

So then, for the mature audience for whom this show was made for, if you love weird, crazy, dysfunctional, BUT very well written, character driven drama, and sprinkled with lots of wit and humor then look no further, you've found it. I especially love the two female lead characters, Crazy Jane and Rita Farr, played by Diane Guerrero and April Bowlby. They are such gifted and talented actresses. Makes it easy for me to visit the show every week on HBO. Highly recommend.

Crowes Contribution to the Film Industry
3 December 2022
Russell Crowes contribution to Hollywood. Here's a guy who accomplished everything an actor only hopes for. So what's next? Directing crappy movie is what's next. This movie could open a door or two in his brain to direct more better movies. Who knows! Mel Gibson did it. Why can't he? With that being said, average movie at best. Story was interesting enough for a watch. Not his best work. Production value looks good. Acting was ok but the script was just lacking in depth and quality. The ending was a roll your eyes moment. But it's Russel Crowe. The only direction to go now after a movie like this for him is up! 5.5 star.

Every Bit As Good As GoT.
31 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I dont see what all the negative reviews are about. What I wish happened was to see the same actresses who played the young Rhaenyra and the young Alicent from episode 1 through 5 grow up in front of our very eyes and see them continue in episode 6 and on. They both did great jobs. But producers decided to flash forward the story in episode 6 to when they become young women now and we see new actresses playing them. This time with their own families and heirs both secretly vying for the throne. It took a little getting use to but once the old Rhaenyra made love to her uncle in episode 7, that all changed really quickly! Also to note I do feel sorry for Lord Daemon. He's definitely a bad person, but he is only playing by the rules that his forefathers put before him. I just feel empathy for his character more than anything. And thats really the strong suit of this show that reminded me why i loved GoT so much. Each families heir battling control over the Iron throne because it's power & fortune they all seek. And some of them are willing to do just about anything to get it.

Similar to the Show Colony...
25 September 2022
But Colony had a much better story & much better action sequences. It also had great hand to hand combat & gun fights. So I'm so surprised to see this show still has a shelve life while Colony went the way of the dodo.

Like usual I like to binge watch when I find a show I'm interested in and did so with this one and right now on S2 EP4. This show is more a French production than American and it shows because the French do not sugar coat anything! Which I actually love to see because American shows can get all sappy & emotional. This one gets right to the point. One review didn't like the logic of the story like dead people lying on the ground for days without any decay or no one tries to fix up a car after the EMP instead walk in every episode. I haven't seen one car since the EMP attack. But I can deal with it as long as the story lines keep me interested. So then my take on this is that you really need to be a fan of this genre to like this show. I know pacing is a bit slow but it's really a character study and I'm always fascinated to see how people react to each other when faced with world annihilation. Will families come together? Who the hero or bad guy will be? And faced in situations like these, will they choose to do the right thing or run away like a coward? And for those reasons, I loved it! Because that's the strength of this show that keeps me wanting to see more.

So if you need logic before storyline, this won't be the show for you. But if you like character driven storylines that makes you question what would you do if you were in an end of the world annihilation? Well this show gives you a lot of that to think about.

A Softer Thor
12 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
My title sums this movie up. I waited till it came on Disney+. I don't think Thor needed a 4th installment. The directors comedy, while fresh, new, and had adult humor in Ragnorak, just fall face flat here. I felt I was watching a softer Thor movie aimed for kids and not adults. Although rated PG-13 for a few juvenile scenes, the rest was kid friendly which I thought ruined the whole Thor franchise.

Casting was great, story subpar, but they didn't use GotG characters nearly enough in the plot except for a few comedy relief scenes that were only 15 minutes long. Which I was so hoping to see since Pratt & Hemsworth have such great chemistry! Hopefully GotG 3 by James Gunn saves this direction of a Marvel kiddie universe. Until then, this installment gets a 5/10.

Shows Cancel Due to Low Audience Ratings
22 August 2022
Yes that's all it's about. Why? The money. It cost a lot to produce these shows & if it doesn't meet audience numbers, it's on the chopping floor. For example, I loved the show Expanse but it got cancelled halfway through S6. It went from 10 episodes to 6. Leaving the crew scrambling to fit a story wrote for 10 shows. If you watch S6, you'll notice right away how rushed the last episode was. Truly sad. What a way to end a great show that couldn't get enough audience members to keep it moving. Same goes for this one.

Sandlers a Hit or Miss. This One's Definitely a Hit!
21 August 2022
Wow! This movie came out of left field for me. As one reviewer put it, if you're a fairweather fan of the NBA, you can still relate to this movie & if you're an NBA fanatic, like myself, you'll simply love it from the start, which I did in everyway!

Adam Sandler movies these days are either a hit or miss. But with this movie he has proven once again, when he wants to do a "hit" movie, he can just switch it on. Just see the movie he did before this called Hubie Halloween! Both movies in comparison are like night and day.

The supporting cast did well too. Hernangomez was cast perfect in this role and a surprisingly Kenny "the Jet" Smith did a good job.

Honestly when this movie came out I didn't see it right away because Sandler's last movie was a disappointment. It was only word of mouth that I decided to give it a watch. But I realize now he still on top of his game when he wants to be and I got to give him another chance. I highly recommend this movie to anyone!

Didn't Do It For Me
10 August 2022
But for others? Well to each its own. A few fight scenes with the old man whom this movie really isn't about but about another old man. That's basically it. The story was a snoozefest. The character Zoe didn't need to be here. She was irrelevant to the plot. Acting was OK but story was so slow and uninteresting to even care about any of the characters. 7.9 rating? People are being generous here. I understand Jeff Bridges is a great actor and deserves all the respect but at least we can do is be honest to him here. This series should be a 6 rating at most. It missed the mark.

So There's French language but no Comanche language?
6 August 2022
And that basically sums up the entire movie for me. Not much makes sense in this film & they focus way too much on the girl & her dog and less on the story. It was mediocre at best. Better than any of the predator remakes except for two, the original Predator & Predators with Adrian Brody. This would be the third best Predator movie. I'm almost leaning towards a tie with Predator 2 with Danny Glover. A watchable movie but don't expect anything great and special.

Mediocre Obi Wan
16 July 2022
Ewan & Hayden shared a few minutes in a scene and that's it. Mediocre action, lazy writing, made for TV Garbage. This was not the Obi Wan story we were waiting for. To have 6 episodes of mind numbing storytelling, what a waste of opportunity.

Alien Tech, Really??
1 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Roland Emmerich has done a few decent disaster flicks in the past but now he's just milking the cow here. All the best scenarios have been done so the only thing left is blame it on alien tech that's putting the moon off its orbit.

This idea is so hard to swallow that it makes the whole film laughable. Furthermore, he's used several ideas from his past movies and retreaded them here, I felt like I watched this movie already.

Him and his creative team should either reinvent disaster movies or retire all together and let some new team direct with a different vision. Because this story has been done to death & we really need some originality.

Confusing Plot

Lots of flashbacks. Big fan of the original trilogy, I tried to watch & understand what in the world is happening? Then came to the realization that it just wasn't a good continuing story that it was billed to be.

One Guy Ritchies Better Films
24 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Guy Ritchie has his shares of good & bad films, this movie however, would be one of his better films in a long time. It's a good yet simple story that's been done many times but this time it has been done meticulously well.

Two things to mention here, Josh Hartnett is in this movie as a supporting cast & shocking to see he's accepting roles again since years ago he decided to turn his back from Hollywood. He does a good job playing a haphazard security guard who finds his courage at the end. Secondly, we finally see Scott Eastwood in a meatier role & better performance here unlike his previous roles were he usually plays uninteresting characters.

The ending was good but it finishes abruptly as we never get to see how Jason Statham flees the crime scene while shot several times & we don't know if Hartnetts characters lives after riddled with machine gun bullets. It just flash fowards to Eastwood & Stathams last confrontational scene where Statham finally kills his sons killer. All in all, one of Ritchies better films. It's far from perfect but it delivers & has its moments.

Cult Classic!
27 March 2022
This was a B-movie that hit all the right notes and became better than predicted. Watching it again 20 years later, it still hits all the right notes making it now a favorite cult classic! Forget about the 4 movies that followed and the stupid add-ons titled "Lake Placid Crocodile vs Anaconda", those were the awful B-movies! You only need to watch this one. The cast of the four heros here that carry the movie are all very accomplished actors in their own right. They knew reading the script, seeing the production value, they were making something special. Add on the late Betty White and you'll sure to have a classic!

I Wanted to Like it But I Just Didn't Care
16 March 2022
From the trailer, the movie looked promising, great sfx, beautifully shot. I hoped the acting and the story would be just as good too. But I had trouble with the pace of this movie & the simple dialog that came with it.

It's not the actors fault. They can only do so much given such a fluffy script. Each long overdrawn scene was just setting us up for another spectacular sfx event to follow. And this is where the movie shines, till we get back to the script again and not much happens.

I really wanted to care for this anti hero with his love interest and the old wise sheriff who eventually has a change of heart. Heck! I even wanted to hate that bad lady who keeps on trying to stop this guy to even go far as wanting to kill him for the greater good. But with such a weak script, it just didn't happen.

It all leads us to a climatic scene at the end to the secret of maybe why he was given these powers. But that's just it. It wasn't climatic enough so I didn't care as much.

More Like 7.5 Stars Rating
29 January 2022
I just watched it and it isn't a bad movie. Special effects were on point. Storyline was interesting enough and kept my attention. Acting and cast were not bad choices either. I just don't know if Chloe Zhao was a right fit for this genre though. But under the tutelage of, as I call him now General Feige, I'm starting to feel the same magic I once felt in the previous Marvel films phase 1 through 3.

Now we are smack dab in the thick of phase 4 and it still works believe it or not. The clues each movie leaves behind after the credits end, it's sort of like the calm before the 2nd big storm and General Feige is brewing something massive again like he did in Endgame.

Honestly, I can't wait to see what the next chapter of phase 4 will be about. It has definitely sparked my interest again.

Only a Few Sequels Top the Original...
2 January 2022
Sadly, this isn't one of them. The continuation of the story was not a good one. Also, the songs aren't as catchy as the first movie too. It's never easy to top the original. I give the movie makers respect for a valiant effort. But they didn't quite catch that magic like they did in the original.

Good Story Wins Above All

I had no expectations coming into this movie, I just know that Helms & Reilly usually pick good scripts. This film turned out to be a much better movie than it looks and a pleasant surprise from the drivel Hollywood produces these days. If you have the time, give it a watch. You won't be disappointed.

Not Much of a Movie
27 November 2021
This movie is easy to forget. Nothing memorable about it. I took a chance because I like J. K. Simmons & Hirsch but the story and dialog is so forgettable, not even their presence can save this dull, average, mundane of a movie. 5 stars.

S1 & S2 Was Just Foreplay, S3 was the Happy Ending
31 October 2021
S1 started off good but didn't quite have that extra push to make it special but it gave just enough for some viewers like myself to check out S2. Then when S2 came out it was just a big mediocre flatline and snoozefest of a season. Halfway through S2 the show probably lost a lot of viewers. But patience is a virtue as they say, I gave this show one last chance. Once S3 started I realized here is where the real story fleshes out & finally we have a series on our hands that's bingeworthy & exciting to watch! If Netflix doesn't give this show a S4 & ends it where it does in S3? Some lucky network will pick this show up where it left off and Netflix is going to lose a gem of a show! Still waiting on you Netflix!

Just Average
26 October 2021
Nothing to see here that already hasn't been seen. Just your run of the mill average movie. Dialog & acting ridiculous at times. Borderline B-action movie. All bells, no whistles. I believe Mackie has powers, but what kind, I don't know. The movie never really shows it. All show, no filler. The robot soldiers were pretty cool. But with not much story, it's pointless.

A Little Above Average Scifi/Action/Crime-Drama Movie
23 October 2021
Not too shabby. It has a good cast, great special sfx. It's shot nicely. Technically, it's amazing to watch. But the story is nothing new. Film writers just added a few twists and turns in the form of superhero powers. I didn't even find this movie till I enrolled on Netflix for Squid Game. Production value for this film must be up there. They didn't miss a beat but the storyline, which has been done over & over again.
