Bihter (2023)
Amazing
I find it very surprising that this movie has received so much negative criticism! It presents a creative and mischievous reinvention of 'Ask-i Memnu,' featuring captivating colors, acting, costumes, decors, and storytelling. I particularly admire the development of Bihter's character-a powerful and colorful woman, both distinct and reminiscent of the original.
The portrayal of Firdevs, Bihter's mother, by the unexpectedly great choice, actress Hande Ataizi, is excellent. I highly recommend everyone to check out this film; it stands as a commendable example of creativity and innovation in cinema!
Bodies (2023)
Disappointed
Spoiler alert-
I have always been intrigued by "time travel" themes; however, this particular example is quite poor. As others have mentioned, there are significant gaps in the story. For instance, at one point, Dafoe talks about predetermined fate and the inability to change the course of time, yet the entire series revolves around attempting to change time, including Dafoe himself.
Who initiated the time loop?
How did a man become his own grandparent?
Why did Shara take the actions she did, even though every villain warned her that she would be the cause of it all? The logical choice for her would have been to stay away, but instead, she followed their instructions.
There are numerous fundamental issues with this narrative, making it frustrating to watch.
Sicak Kafa (2022)
Nice touch
The story and performances were good, some parts were slowed down and some parts could be elaborated more, but overall it was quite good, cinematically. The ideas were captivating with all the visual compositions. I think it was unique in that way.
The most satisfying part of the series was the criticism on politics and the autocratic system, I really enjoyed it.
Downside was the character development, they were not so deep, especially the main characters could have more depth. My favorite character was Ozgur.
In short, the series are worthy of watching, it is not a simple action series, it gives you more than that.
Aelliseu (2020)
A romantic version of Dark
Even though the beginning was nice, the plot has became cheaper and emotional, there were lots of contradictions, which was annoying. A lot of unnecessary scenes, that has no place in the plot and the writers did not even try to connect these scenes to the main plot.
Motherhood praising was overwhelmingly exaggerated, women portrayed incapable and illogical even the smartest one is incapable of defending herself and making healthy choices.
Towards the end, the story became a twisted, cheesy and amateur version of dark, which is really disappointing. I mean this could be a nice series, just with adding a little bit of more science, cutting of 90% of the emotional scenes and creating an original plot.
