How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (2019)
A Bittersweet End To An Amazing Story
In short, I love it! A bittersweet end to the story. Personally, I think they could have kept it going, but I guess ending it while it's still in its prime is good too. It wouldn't feel dragged out unnecessarily. There's so much lore that can still be explored in the film medium. I have to thank DreamWorks Animation, Dean DeBlois, and Cressida Cowell for the amazing job they did and all the years they've kept me entertained. Few animated film trilogies can be named with such high quality and consistency. None of the films fell flat, but rather soared above the majority. I'll always have fond memories of the films and I'll never forget how much they've changed my life. They really did change my life. I found the love of my life because of them. I can't express enough how much the films mean to me because of that. I urge you to go see it when it's in theaters near you. That is if you have seen the first 2 before hand. You wouldn't be lost, but it would help give more backstory and depth to the characters. You'll feel more attached to them as a result.
How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014)
It's always soaring...even when dragons aren't being ridden...
How To Train Your Dragon 2 is a sequel that actually lives up to it's predecessor. It was what I was hoping for and more. The movies starts out with a Dragon competition with all the dragon riders. Astrid, Snotlout, Ruffnut, Tuffnut, and Fishlegs. At first you have no idea where Hiccup is. Once the competition is over we are now soaring through the sky with Toothless and Hiccup. Greeted with one of the best songs in the film, "Where No One Does". Some critics and viewers talk about this movie not having heart, but it's heart is just as big or maybe even bigger than the first film. It will make you laugh and maybe even cry. It had it's joyful moments, some sad moments, and intense moments too, but throughout it always was perfectly balanced. It was darker than than the first movie, but that's okay. I love that it tread on the dark side sometimes. Life has it's darker moments and that made this movie feel so real, even with Dragons soaring through the sky. Toothless always brought a smile to your face, even when he was viscous. Without a cute dragon like Toothless the film might have been too dark for younger children. I say see it as soon as you can if you even remotely like animated films. Watch it with kids if you have any because they certainly won't be bored, and I don't think you will be either.
Rise of the Guardians (2012)
Best Holiday Movie Ever!! A Must See if You Like Animated Movies!
What can I say about this movie that explains how amazing it is? I don't think words can even describe how amazing this movie is. I am a 15 year old boy and love animated movies. I can't get enough of them. I love what Dreamworks has done in the last 4 years. They have stepped up and brought us Megamind, How to Train Your Dragon, and now Rise of the Guardians. I think they really captured each character perfectly. Jack Frost, Santa (North), Easter Bunny, Sandman, and the Tooth Fairy. This movie made me believe in these characters and made me feel like a kid again. It was dark a certain parts, but that is what is different about Dreamworks movies. They always have a sense of darkness in their new movies, that I really love. I don't really call them kids movies, I call them just animated movies. Labeling them as kids movies to me would be wrong. The story in Rise of the Guardians was fantastic and sad at times. I don't want to give anything away, but I will say be prepared to be surprised and shocked. This movie was visually stunning in 3D. If you are going to go see it, see it in 3D if you can. You will not be disappointed. The voice acting is brilliant and each actor and actress fits the role perfect. Many people thought Chris Pine's voice would not fit Jack Frost, but I think it fit perfectly. All the actors brought the characters alive and gave them a since of realize that make you believe they are even more real. Why do I give it a 10 out of 10, well because it deserves the best rating for making me believe and feel like a kid again. Not any other movie has ever done that before. Go see it for sure, even if you don't have kids to bring with you.
How to Train Your Dragon (2010)
An Animated Movie To Forever Be Remembered
I have recently got obsessed with How to Train Your Dragon. Why you might ask? Well because it is the most fantastic, amazing, brilliant movie I have ever seen. Why? Well first of all the music is perfect, always capturing the moment perfectly. Second, the story it just amazing. I don't want to give anything away, so just watch and you will see why. Third, the voice acting is fantastic. Jay Baruchel voices Hiccup the main character, and America Ferrera voices the love interest Astrid. Jay Baruchel does a perfect job at voicing Hiccup because he is just like Hiccup in many ways. Forth and final reason why this movie is fantastic, amazing, and brilliant is that the visuals are amazing. The animation looks nothing like you have seen before. You can see every little freckle on Hiccup's face, even a scar or two. Most people would think of How to Train Your Dragon as a children's movie. Well I don't think so and Dreamworks doesn't either. Dreamworks has said many times it is not intended to be only a children's movie, but more of a teen and adult flick too. You will notice if you ask a kid about this movie they do not remember it that well. Why, because they have seen so many other movies that just stuck more because of how childlike they were. Most of the fans are teens and adults, but that doesn't mean kids would't like it, just that teens and adults will appreciate it a lot more. This movie deserves a 10 out of 10, and I say buy it! If you have a 3D TV watch in 3D because the 3D also looks fantastic. Dreamworks made the best animated movie ever! It will forever be remembered and is a classic that everyone should see.
