The One I Love (2014)

An okay movie with a stupid ending

This movie was kinda good until it got to the end where it just became really stupid. It was perfectly obvious that he needed to pick whichever woman didn't want to leave. It was also obvious that it was the one not looking at him. The fact that he didn't and it was made clear later that he didn't realize what he was doing made the whole thing feel dumb and cheap.

It made the main character look dumb and it's also insulting to the audience to assume that we didn't either and that it's supposed to be a surprising twist. Well it wasn't and it just cheapened and spoiled the whole movie.

This was supposed to be a cerebral scifi movie, not a dumb thriller that assumes the audience is as dumb as the filmmaker. Really disappointing. Assuming the audience is stupid isn't a good way to make them like your movie!

King Dave (2016)

Unlike anything else

A very good movie, unlike anything else I've ever seen. Written, played in theater and played again in this movie adaptation by the same person, this story of a dumb guy who makes a lot of wrong decisions is well put together and worth watching if only because you'll never see anything else like it. Filmed to look like a very long single take, the main character tells us his story as he moves through some key elements of it. Very interesting and I'm glad I've seen it.
