Pardon the Interruption (2001)
Wilbon is over it
I used to love this show, but now half of the dialogue is Wilbon complaining about something new & telling us that the athletes he grew up with were more impressive than any modern athlete.
Skip and Shannon: Undisputed (2016)
Repetitive & Stale
Shannon is great! Always brings great energy, interesting perspectives.
Skip on the other hand is just awful. Anytime something happens in the sports world that will be on the show the following morning, I already know exactly what Skip will have to say, how he will say it, and metaphors he uses. He has about 20 different lines he uses and recycles the same tired points. Skip seems to think the viewers are interested in a debate, rather than a conversation about topics. It seems like Skip tries to make every topic an argument.
On another level, the show hasn't really developed or changed since its inception. The graphics, set design, and video elements all seem to be the exact same... and it just seems boring now.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Disney "super-heroed" Star Wars... dumbed-down and awful
I felt like I was being spoon-fed the most predictable plot ever, not to mention the corny one-liner jokes sprinkled in that killed any hope for getting excited over a semi-serious attempt at art.
The relationship between Finn and Rose was the cheesiest, clumsiest, most cliche attempt at getting the audience to admire them together. Po was such a stock "bad boy" hot head, Luke was a predictable stubborn master, and Rey just waltzed into her jedi skills like it was nothing.
And the plot; my goodness.... The story is Rey gets taught by Luke for 10 mins all the while 1 rebel ship has to get out of range from Snook's fleet. That's it. This dumbed-down movie was essentially a super hero movie styled disgrace.
They should get somebody competent like Christopher Nolan or D.B. Weiss/David Benoiff from Game of Thrones to produce the last one.
Highly Questionable (2011)
Smile, Bomani
Let me start with the good things about the show; the banter between Bomani, Dan, and Papi is usually entertaining. I enjoy hearing their opinions and take on whatever they are discussing. However, the following is a description on why I choose not to watch anymore. First off, I find the production of the show pretty lazy. The music is way too loud. Every time they cut to a new topic, you are blasted by a horn choir. Also, I find the graphics and slides to be aesthetically unappealing (color, font, general theme). Next, the set is really unappealing. I wish there was something more than just a still of a beach and that stupid iPad and plastic fruit. Lastly, the most unbearable part of all, I hate that stupid stone faced look Bomani and Dan keep up the ENTIRE time they are interviewing a guest. It's so rude looking. They could have Betty White talking about saving a puppy's life on and they would still be giving the :| :| face. Overall, I just find this show annoying.
SportsNation (2009)
Hope You Like Memes
Some days I like the banter and references they have, but for the most part I am so sick of the "meme and pop culture" forced into the show. It's even coming through in the word choice they use such as "throwing shade, squad, salty". When I watch TV, I want to escape all the same jokes and memes I see on the internet, not see it regurgitated over and over. Half of the time they aren't even debating anything related to athletic performance, or ranking, or strategy. Usually they are "reacting" or giving their ethical or political opinion on something that someone who happens to be an athlete has done recently. I wish they would use their time, money, and personnel to discuss something related to sports.
