Interesting
23 December 2005
I found this movie to be very interesting. What did i expect when i saw it, honestly i don't know. But all in all i find that it gives a brilliant look into early movie-making and the mentality of the old folks.

Having seen this thing, i have to say it is amusing, relieving and a bit shocking and even disgusting to know that our great grandparents generation was as horny as we are :D The apparent openness about both homosexuality and bestiality is shown in this movie is quite amazing, today no one would even imagine mixing porn genres in such a way, but it seems like "back in the day" they wished to cater to all audiences at once.

This is, by all means, pornography. But it is also a very interesting and fascinating look at a time gone by, both in movie history and history in general.

Ran (2005– )

Very good in general, and a very good example of the rising quality in Norwegian Action movie\TV
26 March 2005
Ran is the story of 5 men in the business of armed robbery. We are thrown almost immediately into the action, when we see them rob a money transport. The story goes to their new job, "Tellesentralen" (Directly translated "Counting Sentral, to describe it simply - a place that handles a LOT of cash).

It also covers their relationship from they met as children, how they involved into criminals, and the struggles they had growing up.

It is in my opinion a very good show, that not only has gotten the story well, but touches something very serious, and that is the growing rate off violent armed robberies in Norway, where the criminals are heavily armed and well trained. The last one being last years robbery of NOKAS in Stavanger where one police officer was killed when the robbers opened fire on the Police with various weapons such as the HK G3 and AK47's.

This is most definitely worth watching if you can get a hold off subtitles.

I think it was a good and fascinating documentary
29 June 2004
The documentary covers the story of the Polish jew Moritz Rabinowitz who arrived in Haugesund in 1911. Seeing the potential the small town had, he settled down and started up as a tailor.

Like they said in the beginning of it, it's hard to find a house in Haugesund without a cloths-hanger with "M.Rabinowitz" on it.

The story is very fascinating and actually unknown to me before i saw it. As the only Jewish family in Haugesund in this time, he and his family of course had to endure much from people, and he was never really accepted in social gatherings.

Moritz Rabinowitz and his family went in to hiding when the Germans invaded in 1940, but after some time in hiding they all ended their lives in a concentration camp. He expressed a great love for Norway and Haugesund all his life.

I recommend this movie to anyone who understands Norwegian, and hope for an English-subtitled version so that the rest of you can se it. And by the way, my great-grandfather was his personal driver for some time, and is in the documentary. He has always spoken most highly of Rabinowitz.
