Tenet (2020)
A worth watch serious film lovers.
One of the most expected movies of 2020.. TENET.
Christopher Nolan after his acclaimed Dunkirk, has come with a mind bending and time bending movie.. his favourite turf..
The usual criticism he encounters regarding his movies and script is the way it confuses the audience. But I have always in the opinion that it is the story that chooses the non linear way of script..
Momento need that kind of narration. The story of Inception need that kind of story telling.
Or may be Nolan chooses those kind of story which needs non linear narration..
In Tenent he is at his peak. The story starts as an usual spy thriller with usual action sequences, (actually those sequences are not out of the world.) ..and car chase and gun fights. But he baffles the audience with U turn in time line, inversing the time and the characters travel back wards in the time.. some times meeting themselves while traveling back in time. This creates unusual situations and plots which forms the movies crux.
It definitely needs a keen watch to keep the grasp on what's happening. Butat the same time it intrigues one. the concept, the story, the way they shot the sequences, and how the story is intertwined with past, the present and future.. .and you get the whole picture when the film ends. (or you get totally confused.)
Truly a master of story teller and the film is worth watching for a serious film lovers.

Bulbbul (2020)
A movie which felt like a painting..
An eerie supernatural thriller set in 1900s.. the film tells the story of Bulbbul, a child who lost her childhood due to marriage. She grows at her in laws home listening to the story of Chudail (the demon woman). But the Demon woman's story becomes reality when a series of murder happens in the small village..
The story trails on a feminist stand without pointing it out directly. But shows the pitiable state of women at that time..
The film is spooky, with thrill elements and engaging even though the plot can be guessed midway.
The photography is the main pillar of the film.. thanks to the wonderful photography by Siddharth Diwan who have captured some stunning visuals.. the film is painted red most of the time adding to subtle horror.
Not to miss the excellent background score by Amit thrivedi which adds to the eerie elements..
The film is the debut film as a director for Anvita Dutt.. and has got excellent command over the language of cinema..
Lead actor Tripti Dimri has a mysterious beauty, perfomed well against the seasoned actors Rahul Bose and Paoli Dam.. A worth watch.
Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (2016)
A below average movie..
The film what was promoted as a bike journey kind of movie was nothing but same old love-Villain-Fight-Ends well kind of movie. The loosely written screen play starts from love genre to bike journey to action genre. But miserably fails in all three. A young man falls in with a girl, starts a long trip in bike with her only to end up in an accident and what follows the accident is rest of the film. Even though the story line have lot of possibilities for great action sequences, the director gives us just a few clichéd scenes which were far from satisfactory. SImbu comes in all sizes, thanks to the long years of shooting. Unlike Gautham's other heroines Manjima is an average pick. AR Rahman is the prime reason for watching the movie. Songs are great. Picturised well. It's time to think Gautham Vasudev Menon. Your magic is waning.
Vaayai Moodi Pesavum (2014)
Overconfident director, Ends with a crappy movie..
The whole movie is like school drama. Right from the beginning the narration of the director is so immature and very artificial. and the actors are too childish. Dulqer Salman should have chosen another movie to gain entry into the Tamil industry.
The news channel scenes are the highly irritating scenes and others ones are the quarreling scenes between cine fans and protesters. Crap...!
The film shows the over confidence of the director, who thinks that his first film (kaadhalil sodhappuvadhu eppadi) is an enormous success (which is equally artificial and like a school drama) and ends up in a worthless movie like this. Better to avoid. Thank god this film is not a commercial success. Hope no other producer gets fooled next time...!
