New Order Story (1993)
Great Bio!
"New Order Story" is one of the best music documentaries I've ever seen. >From the tragic fall of Ian Curtis and Joy Division, to the peak of success as one of the worlds leading "pop" bands. The documentary is filled with familiar faces, including New Order members themselves, speaking about their career and what not. I felt that this film really conveyed a good insight into what the people in New Order are like, seeing as they are a somewhat "quiet" band when it comes to the media. Also, "New Order Story" is an amazing collection of music videos and is perfect for anyone that likes such things.
I understand that there are more than one version available, at least one of which is shorter and far less cool. So do your homework before buying this one.
Blood Diner (1987)
Complete Bloody Art
This movie was one I'd never even heard of. I was at a video store and noticed they were getting rid a ton of VHS to make way for DVDs. I bought an arm full of the 80s horror I saw. Blood Diner sat there in my VHS library for months before I ever watched it.
While watching it I knew I had a treasure in my collection. The humor is completely absurd, the gore is silly, the horror level very low, while horror content was super high. It has a Troma-esque feel to it, so if you adore Troma films, then watch the hell out of this movie.
It has the best use of sucker punching ever! Two cops stand in a room full of dismembered cheerleaders. The young "good looking" one makes an inappropriate remark so the older cop totally sucker punches him to teach him a lesson. Also, a beautiful scene in which one of the main characters beats the heck out of a customer until he vomits everywhere... Within a minute or so the same vomiting, beaten customer is given a free meal or something to compensate for what happened and he doesn't even seem phased!
Great movie if you like absurd humor and blood rituals.
