Lost (2004)
Enjoyable at first, until you work out what ABC are up to
I watched the first few episodes to see what all the fuss was about. It was enjoyable until it twigged what is going to happen. Dominic Monaghan, on The Jonathan Ross show even confirmed it himself, after I had the thoughts. It totally put me off watching the series any further than a few episodes on series one.
What am I talking about? Well the blatantly obviousness of money. ABC were unsure how Lost would go down, but it's been a big, huge hit. Dominic Monaghan confirmed on The Jonathan Ross show that the writers know how the show will end. They have an end story and it could of ended it in series 2 but because the show is so huge, ABC have said "You can't end it now, we are making so much money out of this. We need to drag it out of 10 series". And that is exactly why I stopped watching.
The show if enjoyable yes. But when you realise that all the weirdness and oddness is simply ABC's choice, to drag the show out for as long as people like it, to make more money. You realise that most weird bits have no relation to the story at all and are fillers, it totally puts you off. Totally ruins the enjoyment of it. So I stopped watching.
If you don't mind all this, you may like it. But I got sick of the filler episodes, clearly designed to drag the show out.
The Cable Guy (1996)
Underrated
This is a quality movie and shows Jim Carrey can act. The problem was, everyone was expect it to be like Ace Ventura which it was never meant to be.
It is a dark, black comedy about a lonely cable guy who just wants to be liked. Jim Carrey does a perfect job playing the role of the cable guy. He really makes him believable and quite eerie.
I never really bother with critic views as that is just one persons view. What they don't like, others might. Also a lot seem quite hypocritical. They go along with the masses just to be popular. They clearly didn't see this movie for what it was suppose to be. It was never meant to be Ace Ventura and Jim Carrey wasn't meant to be playing yet another wacky character.
This movie was great and if you didn't like it the first time, give it another try. Forget Carrey's movies before and look at this as if it was his first.
CSI: Miami: Urban Hellraisers (2005)
Worst episode EVER!
What the hell where they thinking? Blaming American violence on computer games, again. Not only that, but the technology, like the glass' with the overlay of the CSI building, used in this episode was laughable.
The kids at the Uni' as apparently playing a computer game like GTA. They get bored of playing it so go out and rob banks for real, but in a stupid way. This episode is so laughable it's shocking. What where they thinking? Are they running out of ideas. This has to be the most stupid episode ever known to man.
This has to go down in CSI history as the worst episode, EVER!
Most Haunted (2002)
Most UnHaunted
Most UnHaunted, thats what it should be called. They still, after 6 series, have not found a thing. They over react to every little bump and creak. Most of the time it even seems faked. In one episode they dig up a wall and find bones behind it. Instead of calling in the police to check this isn't a past crime scene they straight away remove the bones and proceed, without any expects, to claim them to be human. Again, if thats the case, they, by law, have to call in the police. If the bones are over 100 years old they are discounted, less than, they are checked as they could be part of a possible crime.
Anyway. The show use to be good, back in series 1. But now they rely WAY to much on the Mediums, who seem a little well, fake. If they got rid of them, maybe the show would be OK. But to be honest. Seen as not much ever happens, a lot of it does seem set up. They have made a lot of money out of this show. I'm pretty sure they could have a camera in every room they check and in every corner of that room, yet they still don't. Meaning we still miss things that 'they' see, just so happens, out of shot.
OK as entertainment. As a serious investigation into the paranormal, avoid.
