Barfi! (2012)
surely a musstt watch...!!
With barfi, bollywood realised that a good film does not need an item song to make the film a hit......good script is all that is required. This movie will open your minds, your attitude and let you celebrate yourself. Set in the early 70's the film revolves around three young people who finally realise that all the events in life can't be approached with pre planned conventional attitude....sometimes you really need to listen to your heart's call. The story of the film is very good, but the thing which makes it even better is the narration. The film just flows with ease as if it was real. Other notable things in the film are -acting, direction and its songs. This is undoubtedly the best performance of both ranbir and priyanka. Iliena made a great debut of this magnitude. The songs in the film are all perfectly placed and the lyrics are simply awesome. Anurag basu again proved that he is presently the best director in bollywood. The only drawback i could feel was the length of the movie which could have been shortened. But again after watching a movie like this ,these kind of things can easily be ignored. Do watch it. Its worth watching.
Hate Story (2012)
..hmmm....so-so.
well by "so-so" i mean the film is only half good. You may watch it, but don't go in with a high expectation. The first half of the movie is disastrous. If you can somehow survive the first half you may enjoy the rest. The acting has been poor throughout the film. The love making scene of the first half was nothing less than comedy although there were some good intimate love making scene in the second half. overall a very strong subject, somewhat out of the box, but rather poorly executed. This is the very first time boolywood managed to present something different bold yet very realistic topic. I felt with a better star cast the film could have been much better. Paouli Dam did a descent job although she still needs some acting lessons. To sum it up, i would say, its watchable but definitely not a must watch.
Baishe Srabon (2011)
definitely watchable..
well, after watching a lot of Bengali movies, this film came as a pleasant surprise to me. Judging the film from its intensity, looks and specially MUSIC ,i would definitely say its a much better movie than some of the huge budget superhit bollywood films. The acting in this film has been good, but what steals your attention is the picturisation of the film. The film has a very good story line. Things to watch out for is the twist at the ending of the film apart from the macho unshaven Prosenjit using abusive language. But ,surely, once after watching the film you won't feel that you have been robbed of your time.
