Life Is Strange: True Colors (2021)
Painfully slow story
I found the story to be incredibly slow, no ability to skip forward conversations and she even walks slow! I would have been much happier if I could have skipped dialogue.
Grown Ups (2010)
Pretty funny but...
I actually enjoyed this movie quite a bit with it's wholesome storyline but... Selma Hayeks performance was absolutely awful. I guess you can't just coast on good looks, actual talent is needed.
Serenity (2019)
A little too much twist
This film had me captivated right at the beginning. Even though I felt a little 'Big Fish' moments here with the tuna, I was intrigued about where the story was going. Was his son dead? Why did he run away? Will he catch the uncatchable fish?
But then the twist of the movie happened. I was still mildly interested to see where the 'game' would take us, but I just found it to get more and more ridiculous and the fact that the main character was Not phased at all by the revelation he wasn't real was just bad writing.
The end of the movie was just plain dumb and left me with questions as to how the kid was even able to make this happen from his current living arrangements.
All in all, it was an interesting movie, the acting was done well but the characters reactions and script were both badly done. Worth a watch if you're looking for something out of the norm.
Champions (2018)
I actually enjoyed it
To all the other reviews calling this show out for being over the top and that it's acting is ridiculous... I think people don't see that that's part of its charm! The stupid jokes and overacting ARE the show!!
Yes it's silly and dumb, but I enjoy these kinds of shows once in a while just to laugh.
Left Behind (2014)
I used to almost like Nick Cage...
I'm going to keep this short.
Nick Cage has had his moments. Even if he IS the exact same character with the same monotonous emotional capacity of a sea sponge, I've enjoyed some of the films he's starred in. ie. Con Air, It could happen to you... so on and so forth But! Then there's this movie. I didn't read the summary, I just figured this was a disaster movie. Boy was I thrown. I couldn't help but get whiplash from my confusion on whether this was about God, if it was a comedy or if it was supposed to be taken seriously.
All in all, I did chuckle a couple times, but this movie was terrible. Did he do it Pro-Bono??? God I hope so!
Perfect Sisters (2014)
Captivating Plot with Bad Directing
After having read the other reviews, I'm thrown off by how different my take on the movie was.
Where I did find the plot, based on the true story of a murder, intriguing and it prompted me to research the case, I found myself struggling to watch the film all the way to the end.
The movie begins very sweetly and innocent. The girls imagining different mother ideas in an obvious effort to portray her as terrible, yet all we see is her trying to start a new life. The wham! She's a drunk. Allowing her young son to play with vibrators while the house is strewn with garbage and food.
I did enjoy the attempt of the film to show them as innocent teens just trying to cope, but it just didn't match with the harsh reality of the situation. At times I wasn't sure if I was watching Mean Girls or if I stumbled into something darker.
The transition of their emotions from fear to anxiety to giddiness had no natural flow. Not even for a crazy person. I honestly feel that there was a struggle between making the film for a PG13 audience that abused teens could relate to and trying to accurately display the extent that these girls were pushed to even consider murdering their own mother for the sake of a happiness.
