Jawan (2023)
Absolutely rubbish
Not worth of a review - extremely poor screenplay, no logic, and zero reason why I should pine for any character. Given the high technical quality of special effects added into the movie and some big South Indian actors present, a few crores added to the budget for some proper storytelling could've been worthwhile. But no, the director resorts to copying small parts from a million Hollywood movies including The Matrix, Bourne Identity, and Mission Impossible.
The recent wave of South Indian movies gaining popularity across India means Bollywood actors are also resorting to the same formula of larger than life characters. However this doesn't mean that Bollywood takes its audience for a ride with poor storytelling and beyond a point, some folks will stop watching these movies in theatres.

So poor
This movie is overhyped and overrated.
Rather than taking inspiration from one Hollywood superhero/action movie, the director has taken inspiration/copied from many movies.
But that's not the problem. Thought the movie, my primary feeling was that if any of the lead characters died and the movie ended, I wouldn't care about any of the characters. The movie simply didn't have the appeal or the pull towards any of the characters.
I knew this is a masala entertainer and the idea is to not apply your mind to the movie, but this is pathetic. The director makes no effort for us to feel for the characters and to make matters worse, the producer has started a Yashraj Spy Universe, implying more movies with the same stars are on the way.

This movie need broader recognition
I will not say Bollywood has come of age, because it hasn't. But some directors in India have raised the level of Indian movies and Anil Rahi Barve takes it a step higher. I watched it on Amazon prime and will recommend this to anyone who can watch a bit of horror.
The storyline is superb, with a constant melancholic tone, the performances top notch and the production values and special effects extremely effective. Underlying the movie is the theme of greed, which shows up time and again, whether is is between great grandmother and great grandson, father and son or husband and mistress. Movie loses bit of pace towards the end, but the climax covers the momentary weakness.
Kudos to the director, because he waited almost 10 years to make this movie.
Andhadhun (2018)
Bollywood's standard raised to the next level
It is great to see a movie like andhadhun being made. In a year where Race 3 earns over 100 crore and makes you think what have your directors come to, Andhadhun is a whiff of fresh air. It shows that we can make gripping movies, which make you guess what will happen next.
One of the best way to judge a movie is to see how distracted you are during the movie. Hats off to Sriram Raghavan there. Andhadhun's story is gripping that you won't need to fidget with your phone in the theatre. The main performances by Tabu and Ayushman are outstanding ably supported by a great supporting cast.
All in all, watch it. And watch it again to understand the end.

Great stuff
These videos are great to understand more about the technical aspects followed by great filmmakers and the themes that characters are based on. Never knew movies could be interpreted these ways too.
