Distracting plot holes
24 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Credit card debts fall off your credit report after 7 years of nonpayment. The banker couldn't have legally collected on that debt. The Back to the Future references are fun, and it's nice to see Sabrina convince Jimmy to buy a new car. They could have avoided the plot hole buy having the shady banker attempt to collect, have Sabrina explain the fairly common knowledge about credit card debt, and have the parents sell the DeLorean to the banker so Jimmy would have a down payment, as it's hard to get a good deal with bad/zero credit, and the parents feel guilty about the credit card fraud.

But they went the distracting route instead.

Please tell me the cartoons stop

I hated Schoolhouse Rock when it was first on. The revival ruins a decent show.

Also, the Blum character is very obnoxious.

This was too short to post, but I don't think I needed to explain more.

It wasn't captioned

Netflix version does not have subtitles or ability to turn on captioning, so I'm rating the movie as terrible bc we couldn't hear or understand anything they were saying.

More about the interviewer

The forensic psychologist who narrates makes this story all about her, going all the way back to her childhood. BTK story doesn't even start until 20 minutes in. She managed to make a serial killer boring.

Amy Amy Amy
22 January 2022
She's been gone for a whole season, and true to form shows up at the last minute and makes the whole ending all about her. It was completely against her character that she would just quit her job with nothing else lined up- every single other episode with her in it showed how willing she was to throw her employees, coworkers, and friends under the bus if she could benefit- all of her storyline were about her trying to one-up people while still being perceived as loveable. She was a horrible character, and she ruined the last episode.

Oh goody, they brought back Amy
22 January 2022
This last season was proof that this could have been an excellent show if they'd just had the writing caliber of the 1st three seasons mixed with no America Ferrera. She could be a fantastic actress, but the Amy character is just self-serving and generic. I'm really sad that there aren't more shows with the actress who plays Dina.

Amy sucks
20 January 2022
I enjoyed the character in the first season, but as I binge watch the character's self-serving nature just grates on my nerves. This time she screws over all her employees by not letting them address real concerns on a phone call with corporate. It's hard to find her selfishness funny.

Amy character narcissism continues to be distracting
20 January 2022
I'd write another review about the Amy character choosing something selfish over her employees and co-workers, but it's just so repetitive.

This time she lets her kid and her friends trash the store so her daughter will think she's cool.

I hate all these people and I don't know why I keep watching this
18 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is the episode where Amy is awkward and irritating about her new salary, Garrett announces it over the intercom, Mateo fakes his way into an undeserved promotion, and Cheyenne gives her boss shade by disclosing her salary to a line of customers and pressuring her into paying for their diapers . There has to be a way to do comedy without cringe. I know it's supposed to highlight the absurd, but I just kept thinking about how quickly all of these people would be fired. . This time I just wanted to slap Cheyenne, Mateo, Marcus, and Amy, so I guess it's a 4 star episode.

Amy sucks
18 January 2022
The writing in this episode was overshadowed by how completely annoying the Amy character was. I don't think it's the actress's fault. Watch it - if you don't find her obnoxious, I'll send you a lollipop 🍭

Obnoxious
15 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I know comedy is supposed to push the line of reality and absurdity, but this episode failed.

Election judges and other people can't unlock those machines. They have a specific procedure to prevent fraud. And if something had happened to the machine, there is a number you're supposed to call, and the company will just come out and take care of it.

Also, there's no electioneering allowed within 50 ft of the voting place, making the whole B story moot.

Irritatingly implausible
15 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Story: employees dole out junk from the Lost and Found. Amy gets stuck with grubby old shorts that happen to have $900 in the pocket. Cheyenne makes incredibly annoying assumption that the money is hers, somehow, and that Amy is going to split it or buy something for the store. I had to fast forward the episode because it was so annoyingly unrealistic and unfair, lol. Any human would have spoken up and just kept the money, but then again, no one would expect another employee to buy something nice for a department store.

The most asinine Little House episode

Warning: Spoilers
Add-a-kid Albert and 4th season addition Garvey kid think they're grown-ups, and their dads send them on a road trip challenge and secretly follow them. Never addressed - and seemingly overlooked by the writers - is why on God's green earth Michael Landon's character, Pa, would think his previously homeless son who had survived, alone, on the streets for years, would be stymied by a night on his own. The glaring plot hole is never addressed.

How to act "Dark": make your voice sound deeper and whisper a lot
2 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I hate this episode of this convoluted storyline so much that I wrote my first review. The terrible, terrible acting is incredibly distracting— apparently the only direction the actors had for "acting dark" was to lower their voices and whisper. It sounds stupid when they're talking to non-dark characters, hilarious and painful when they're talking to each other.
