Revolutionary Road (2008)
A fresh take on how to live ones life
Revolutionary Road is not only a well-made from a cinematographic view with it's thematics and camera view, but also an interesting take on how to live a life which is true to oneself. This young couple moves to the suburbs and with it a certain style of life is expected. A conflict then arises as to whether to follow the norm or actually break-free and live a life on ones own terms. I was taken by their youthful drive and vision that ulitmately got shattered because of an inability to follow through. It is dramatic and gripping, and can shake ones view on how much our culture is influencing our choices on how to live our lives.
Aziz Ansari: Right Now (2019)
Mindfulness, Gratefulness, Cognitive insights and good laughs
It was lovely to see a comedian talk about mind-opening subjects, such as being completely present in each moment, especially the ones we share with out loved ones. I was also happy he mentioned some of the cognitive biases that shape our judgments and conclusions we make based on biased research. And finally, he is pretty funny.
Adam Devine: Best Time of Our Lives (2019)
If you like Adam Devine, you are going to love this
I have watched most workaholics episodes and I love that particular sense of humor.
Yes, it might not be the most sophisticated neither the most original, but I enjoyed his energy, positivity, and workaholics reference.
I fell asleep with a smile on my face.
Kan du vissla Johanna? (1994)
Touching story
Habit srrn this beautiful story everyday Christmas day since I was a child on Swedish television I have a special connection to it. That being said, I am always touched by the touching scenes, largely because of the fantastic acting. All we need is connection and the loving openness displayed by the two children is an inspiration.
Schindler's List (1993)
A must watch
I believe this movie felt more than a movie. It felt real and I believe it is a vital film to see in order to understand more of the atrocities from those times and how it is possible to use your power for either the good of mankind or the worse. Just like Oscar goes through a personal transformation and uses his skills to help others so can we. It was a call for action, a call for humanity.
Salt Fat Acid Heat (2018)
Informative, authentic and entertaining.
The charming host takes us on a culinary journey exploring the basics of cooking. Through her natural contact with all the people she meets, we get to experience cooking made in the traditional way while learning a thing or two in the process. Everything packed in an amusing and entertaining manner, largely thanks to Samin fun and curious mind.
