Spirited (2022)
Love it!
I've read reviews criticizing Ryan and Will's singing. They're actors with decent voices, not professional musical stars aiming for a Tony award. This movie was full of unexpected surprises and I love the musical bits so much, I'm ordering the cd. My favorites are Ripple and Do a Little Good. So far, I've watched this 3 times. I do agree with the reviewer who mentioned the dancers. They're completely outstanding. Watch it for the interaction between the two leads. Watch it for Octavia's very tender song. This is my second favorite Will movie, the first being Stranger Than Fiction. Also my second fave Ryan film, Adam Project being first. Clear your expectations. Be open. This is fun.
Grimm: Blood Magic (2017)
Heartbreaking
I cry every time I watch this one. A very thoughtful episode and handled beautifully.
Supernatural: The Prisoner (2015)
Great episode, but...
May contain spoilers:
So yes, this is a great episode, but it's also an example of how Dean has some serious double standards. Because Sam was trying to save Dean, he enlisted Charlie's help and she was killed. Dean blames Sam. But he tricked Sam into letting an angel posses him and Kevin was killed. If Charlie is on Sam, Kevin in is on Dean. And he seems to have forgotten that. I love, really love the character, but sometimes he's an ass that needs to allow others to make their mistakes and stop holding them to a higher standard. Yes, I know the mark is at play here, but there are other times they write him like this.
Supernatural: Golden Time (2019)
No narrative
Sure, it's good to have Cas back in action and to see Eileen again. My biggest issue with this episode was the narrative. Mostly because of how often he called Sam 'Dean.' Who did the editing? If we're bringing people back, how about Charlie?
Grimm: Zerstörer Shrugged (2017)
How the staff got there....
Is explained in the final episode. Nick had to hand over, willingly, his piece. Clearly, the other pieces were handed over and, therefore, Z was able to take them to the Other Place. The remaining piece couldn't go through because it did not belong, unless it was surrendered. Which it hadn't been.
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1972)
I finally found it!
I was eight years old when my mother took my sister and me to see this version of Alice. She bought us a commemorative book with scenes from the movie as well as a record with the songs. I remember listening to it repeatedly. That's what I've always remembered about the movie. The music. The record was lost many, many years ago. As I'm watching it now, the lyrics all come back, as well as most of the scenes. This movie ruined all other versions of Alice for me. The music, the live action, the sets....maybe it's nostalgia. In any event, if you haven't seen this version, I highly recommend giving it a try.
