Final Voyage (2019)

Had to re-watch couple times because I like late night scifi

Well....saw it on Amazon, pure luck. I just love an atmosphere that is dark foreboding eerie quieter sublimely layered...yes yes two people and a shop but to those of us who are given different types of senses or more honed, we see the multiverse...I read one comment that Americans really won't like or get it, I just laughed bc it's kinda true. Thank God my latency years were in Addis Ababa so I can handle stuff like this, you know, complete uncertainty! The end very jarring and requires another look through, why you might say-well for started when Adem turned off the signal in the ship, signal also went dead in the helmet, hence Novak's stumbling...another comments wrote that the ship was third main character too and that's my point. I do t know if writers are smart enough to put in nuggets to hunt for or little things that may hint at other things...I may have to look up writer to see what else he has but we need more of this. Beacon 23-MGM-utter nonsense!!

Had to go from 3 to 1 stars bc after I finished the very long Chinese POV, these two should never again mention GoT, EVER EVER EVER. I knew the two DBs would blow it and I didn't even read the book and only cuatro episodes in. The two female leads, I mean where are they getting all these noBodies; it felt amateurish. I can care less if characters in the book are flat, movies need to take you for a ride but once I heard that female 'Lord' character, I knew more bull crap was coming. As soon as the homosexuality was presented, I just sighed and moved on. Red China should have been gloomier and not just a 10 minute business. I cannot even believe this was a crowned sci-fi novel to begin with. I'm going to skip to the eight episode and see if it's worth watching. An advice to the wonder boys --Gone are days of GoT! Welcome to mediocrity....you should have gotten better actors, the ones that know how to play the scene...people whose art it has been for centuries...the story itself is just how can I say it without being offensive...it's like outsiders looking inside, that wrote it, but really not getting the source of why it is the insiders are they way they are. I'm still shocked at how mediocre it is bc even the wonder boys used their names to tout it and it in advertisements and I was excited but once I new few more details I knew it would just NOT BE. But the real problem is the end of the world theme...I don't know how this book plays out but movies will never succeed in this area bc man simply doesn't get God. At times I felt like it was referencing how God acts with human...knows every detail about us, like their Sophons(so), very God like attributes but they are the enemy. I feel like man is trying to say something...they hate God! They drop Christ's name in vain and so this goes down as another underwhelming end of the world story! Yes the end is here...thank God!!!

...There is always hope. Its hard to watch when other favorites are not around but i hope these idiots tie it all together in the end. I cannot call them anything but idiots for ruining things...totally didn't care for Negan era, though i watched it till he came down, and the other 'baddies' so i just dipped out. Then i heard about the fork in the middle...Daryl--Mag&Neg--TheRick&Michonne...so that is where we are at. I like intimacy of handful of characters and not a whole city but let's see where we go...DO NOT MESS THIS UP. Of course the third-person perspective of Michonne and the Brave Man, lead me to believe we have a Legend type of thing maybe bieng set up for Rick. Whatever the case great to see Rick and my lady Michonne!

I mean it was doing its job and kept itself interesting BUT i began to realize as time was going on i had another Martian on my hand. I don't care to see ANY ONE person for long periods of time overcoming anything, don't kur!!! It had hope with all the strange stuff like hindis or whatever the brown people are (be cool, im black) doing in the middle of whiteland...but i couldn't tell you bc the second i saw and sniffed gay stuff, i dipped out. I will never care to see that stuff and if there's a show i really like and it has that stuff, it must be peripheral/negligible. It's like the men of Hollywood just cant resist that yuk; it's still America and i can still speak truthfully. Why was it necessary to add a kissing scene of two men...

Seen characters like this forever and some...stereotypical too...had it not been for Luci I was not going to continue bc like I said up top--seen this 1000 times before NOtHINg NEW. The chubby cop was good but by episode 4 or so it's just like I want to just shake her. BUT I did get some funny parts and view of the Outback and I thank Jesus I live in America!!! A black beauty threw me for a loop and she was great held her own in the face of James, maybe he is just Jamie...the big dude I know form other shows good acting there but I MUST CONFESS I stoped watching it when she died...why, like I said up too she was the only reason I watched it I hope I see more of her!

Man I was waiting for it ...waiting, all ready and comfy and I like the first few actors I saw and some GOT leftovers and then things just sped up ASAP: a girl is tilling the ground -sees a ship -she runs to ring a bell and some seriously bad drama and death and we are off to find fighters!!! As soon as Dario the second takes out the picnic blanket I press stop bc that scene was beyond awful...background looked like a wall painting...I just felt it at that moment THIS IS BAD...so I stopped and never looked back then I saw the ratings and comments and felt vindicated...sci-fi has been murdered and we need to protest!

I would have rated higher bc it's to the point and fairly good. Yes they could have drawn out the stories slowly but then we would complain about that too...I can handle the diversity, hello I am black but if it's a one-and-done, my interest isn't as high. Unlike other shows like Dark-German- they could have confused us thinking that makes it interesting but it doesn't, things made sense and it was quickly paced. I have an issue with always having gay characters...and pretending people in that era, and the law mostly flowed as people would like you to think. I have no true affinity for the characters but wiseman story line was more interesting for me but I'm only at E5. Well thought out stories are of a bygone era so we take what we get or not!

Updated review:bit of a mess and tell me why the writers have been rewarded contracts!!! This bad writing is EVERYWHERE, we just cannot escape it. I really tried but when you season finale is 38 minutes only and a dragon eye...well...I mean... we're it not for the acting it's DOA!

First review: She was great in it and the second the older cast left the 100, it sucked bc she was awesome in it! Back to this witchy story...yes it's slow but I feel most shows are slow these days so I have adjusted. They want us to FEEELLLL their pain and the heaviness of the circumstances and it worked but still a bit choppy. The acting is high caliber but the story seems all over the place bc once the 'click' happens the mystery may be gone. The first scene from the boat will certainly have a part later but it's slow...I know but it's worth watching LaKieth bc he is one of the best out there today but we still get the same nothingness all the time...so chill...

The old world is dead, a new age is here where things are just drawn out I think more to make u really feel like you are there as opposed to fillers. I had to slow my mind down bc I am used to a certain type of sci-fi and this is pure drama scifi with good intensity where there needs to be. I think the criticisms really stem from a people who are just always in or on the fast lane...slow down chill and just accept it thwn I enjoyed it. Yes it's slow but it's good; sure we can trim some slow scenes but why; yeah too many non-white characters but they r good actors! So people can watch all that talk in Oppenheimer but this-no no this is too slow...people can watch garbage Barbie but this fresh show is too slow...I like all the characters too! Finally I can see the world falling apart but people still love their drama Bull**** life-but this is too slow. Let's hope season 2 is good and then more, till then haters beware all is not well🤐I mean we should be excited anytime we get sci-fi bc the crap masquerading as sci-fi is NOT! Peace out.

Hope I spelled her name right but she was the reason I watched this show and yes it's lacking but she helped...it's the acting that helps. I saw 'rage' in other Spanish shows and he was underutilized bc he's good to watch...it could have been so much better like exploring and taking the chance and telling us what the creatures are...the lead was good too but bc it was too short to create characters and cramming in his past didn't help...seems like all I write these days are...had potential!!! I never saw the Sandra movie but maybe now I can...thank God for the strike bc Hollywood is a mess I mean wtf...Barbie!

So fun to watch

Doesn't take itself seriously; very good acting with respect to many of the main if not all main characters including the young; touches on many looming sci-fi-ish conspiracies; makes you want to look for clues yourself; has many funny moments despite the gore; and it has the pull to make you want to see where this is going...the cast is the best part though bc they seem to have good chemistry and no social issues to bog it down (subtlety done if there is)!

Some things I do have an issue with though bc if I was there I would expect more people trying to constantly escape no matter what. I never liked the whole use of less-mentally-developed characters that seem to be a potential lynchpin to whole mystery but Victor is awesome!

Invisible City (2021– )

Continuity is a thing of the past. Yet it's what keeps people going into season's 7, 8, but this show is dead as with most. Five episodes speaks volumes of producers thoughts as well as the fact that they didn't release adds for it in 'new/upcoming' Netflix sections. Because they know it's not what the people will want. I do wonder what happened to Camila...was it the blackness...too bad bc it was at least interesting. I cannot wait for another Netflix price hike bc it's the perfect time to ditch it. We cannot keep investing our leisure time on shows we hear are coming back and do so in horrible fashion OR even just waiting to see if there will be a season 2.

Pure rubbish what they are calling a prequel...but I hear a sequel is coming-with Snow! Characters we actually care about bc the storylines were so good. Simply the best series ever on TV! I cannot contain it nor lie about it I would love to see Sansa back...it's all good between cousins even in the Bible! I don't think I can handle a man in the wilderness story, it will have again missed what people enjoyed about it. Bring back the sisters, etc. And give us good stories and DO NOT resuscitate the dragon lady! It will be almost next to impossible to write a good story again but I wish them the best.

Is it greed? Is it the limelight? What causes men to trample all over their work! I had free HBO for week and couldn't stomach it...there is like no one on this show but sweet Paddy and Ryhes(?)! GOT had mostly memorable characters and dialogue where as this is all NOT! The princess is devastatingly trite with her attitude and I do t know the whole thing just stink...they should have done a show about strange Targaryen's coming to Westeros instead of jumping what 175 yrs only in the past! They should have drastically changed the customs made them more primitive or something but what we get is a bad image and imitation of GOT!

Some peoples mind are way to disturbing and people that enable this type of writing are all in the same boat... there are some movies that leave a true expression on you and this is one of those...truly evil minds at work these days...

I haven't read the comics to know what it was supposed to be, but what it is on screen...is just plain ol' bad. How can anyone stomach the absent dialogue. Some good actors on it from GOT, but that couldn't save it! I felt bad they had to squirm through the awful writing. The imagination of man has become so trite I must stop now...

What nonsense, what garbage, they rolled the same crap out for a finale!!! Obviously someone did not watch GoT in order to know how to write an ending...it could have been season 3 and killing Ruth and keeping the nasty Marty and his even nastier wife and those Fd up kids...the whole family should have died and only Ruth should have remained...if the show was TRULY any good it would not have stopped at 4!

It's not a masterpiece AND lately there none so it passes. I think there are sublime and subtitle messages but a second season will be needed to bring them to fruition. Yes, it could have been better but it was enough to keep me engaged.

My first review wasn't kind AND I didn't even go two episodes in. The truth is I know what I want or more precisely I know what I am used to or more familiar with bc a lifetime of conditioning. Nothing to say about lady Rosamund except to say she is almost perfect...a fallen house indeed is where she comes from...that line spoke volumes!!! It spoke to the changing of the times which we are seeing unfold today...people who never got a chance are getting chances or rather a seat at the table. Houses that once stood firm are all but gone. Our great American empire has fallen. So to watch show like this evokes the history of the past we truly do t know. Give it a chance in a more playful way...these kids must be so excited to be in a show like this so I wish them well...maybe even I am Changing as well. Movies are suppose to let u exit reality but I know it's hard to see things that may be jarring at first ...there better be many seasons!

Stranger (2017–2020)

So just saw S2E216 and what can I say...the suspense was until the end and the supporting cast once again came toe-to-toe with the leads. Rarely can a show master that and still let you know who the leads are. I am really left speechless bc it managed to conjure humors, hubris, mystery, unrequited love (well we shall see), loyalty, and just so many other things. But the true beauty of this show is that EACH episode is packed nicely. Everything seen and heard is necessary so you do t get bogged down with 'the meaningless'. Please make a season 3 and 4 ...have to pause couple times to catch the names bc it's in Korean and subtitles swing by a bit fast (Netflix) but what a show. Love the leads and supporting cast is as superb. Not as contrived as Scandinavian mysteries or brutal just a good series to watch...

I liked S1, let's be clear I watch it for DB, NOT LE or DF!! Season two was okay but like another commentators view, it's taken such liberties with history it's boring me. The strong female hear me roar thing and her female detective agency was the theme, a black woman walking into a high class whites only restaurant as if it nothing, right (I'm black FYI)! I hate history re-writers! It is what it was, work with it! I don't know if they know who their audience is even...DF was VERY MISCAST, her face has no range her acting at best okay, she is just wrong person for this role!

I thought this was an awesome show although difficult to figure out who is whom back then, in the present or in the future. Still it was good...But then season 3 came and man it sucked big time. I mean I couldn't even sit through any episode without forwarding it then I just jumped to the end without seeing episodes 4-7...and I didn't miss anything! Why bc nothing about the last episode made me want to see 4-7 it was a hot mess!

A season two would be great but better still would be having Ben and Cynthia revive their roles, in whatever manner of course. It will be difficult to write a good season two but it can be done. Their chemistry between the the two is off the chains even without too much exposure time together with respect to screen time. The other characters were great too, weary about a couple of them... or what's left of them. Thanks HBO for branching out...good luck! The world is already dreary gimme something un-worldly...
