Beef (2023)
What a brilliant story.. Until the end
I was utterly invested for all but the last episode, and then it just got weird. Not sure if they didn't know how to end it after all the brilliant episodes with twists, turns and tension building. I really felt for all of the characters and wanted some sort of conclusion - but it didn't happen.
My hope is there are further seasons to explain what the ending meant, if not then it was a dissapointment.
Really look forward to see more from all of the actors - great quality from all of them and having seen one of the leads in 'Nope' was good to see him in something that allowed him to show his skills.
Rain Dogs (2023)
I really don't get the negativity
It's bleak, it's dark, it's engaging and me and the missus were hooked from the first episode. I thought the characters were well cast and haven't seen another series quite like it. Nice to see somehting original.
I may be biased as I've loved Daisy in everything else I've seen her in. I was really pleased to see her in a straight role and watch her not just doing another comedy role- I hope she gets more opportunities off the back of this.
Haven't finished the full series yet, so may still be dissapointed, but have enjoyed this so far and would suggest people make their own minds up. And don't get put off too much by the negative reviews.
Home Sweet Home Alone (2021)
Glad I watched it, and the kids loved it
I loved the originals (1 and 2), the sequels were not good.. But this reboot worked for me. It was fun, cheesy and very Disney.
I probably won't ever watch it again, but I'll have trouble stopping my kids!
World Trade Center (2006)
About an hour too long
The film started off so well-it had atmosphere, the retelling was compelling and intruiging. Even cage wasn't stinking up the set. It just ran out of steam way too soon, in my opinion.
Stowaway (2021)
Who thought this was a story worth telling?
I have to echo the other comments made, the story is not remarkable, or even that interesting.
The plot started well and fizzled long before the end of a pointless outcome. This was a missed opportunity for sure, they had a great mystery in the appearance of a stowaway on a 2 year space mission and didn't even tell us how, or why, that had occurred.
Again, like some other comments, I thought the acting was solid- and I hope this movie doesn't spoil anyone's career.
Beneath (2013)
It's not often you route for the rubber fish
So many low points to this movie, from the dire story line (or lack thereof) to the rubber fish with a paddle sticking out of its head. The film was nonesense from start to finish (both of which I regret seeing).
There is nothing to redeem this movie and I'm sorry Netflix had the poor judgment to pollute its catalogue with this waste of time.
