A fitting ending for a great story
17 July 2022
One of the best movies I have seen in my life. Watch how the characters evolve. As they grow that boy and that girl change. Along with that, their priorities change too. You need to watch it carefully. Some things are not so easy to understand.

The ending was magnificent. I was shocked that some people didn't like it. A great way to end the story and to emphasize how the 3 main characters (boy, girl, detective) evolved.

The Northman (2022)

Disgusting and boring.

The film is an alternative story of Amlet (or Amleth). His father the king was killed by his brother who took his throne and his wife. The boy Amleth escapes and vows revenge.

I was expecting an epic movie but it wasn't it. My first impression; I found some scenes disgusting but I pressed myself to keep watching. However there was nothing interesting, nothing memorable. After an hour or so I gave up. It was boring.

Elsa dies in the end
31 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
They managed to spoil a good show by killing Elsa. I strongly suggest not to see it.

I gave it a 5. I didn't even bother to watch the last episode.

10-5=5.

Season 3 will be even worse.
17 January 2022
I had to change my rating after season 2. I changed it from 10 to a generous 8. It was nice to see the witcher as a lonely hero fighting with monsters etc as was the case in season1. Of course it was to be expected that he would change a bit after Ciri. I did expect that Ciri would be a kind of daughter to him. I didn't expect though such a luck of wisdom from him. Attachment and love is not the same thing. I mean, come on, he is hundreds of years old and he turns into a very possessive and oppressive father?

In the last episode of season2 there is a twist which is the most crazy and outrageous thing. These people must be really desperate to put in something so ridiculous.

Also have in mind that the episodes are not made by the same director. I bet season 3 will be terrible. I expect more psychological problems, conflicts, ridiculous plot etc instead of good story and adventure.

Boring
18 June 2021
I started watching this but I couldn't finish it. This says something because I am retired and I don't have much to do. Totally appalling characters. Even if there is a story I don't care because I couldn't care less about the characters. I wonder why it got distinctions. Every other Korean film I watched is better than this. In fact some of them were great.

Where stupidity goes to the stars!
21 September 2020
This series was a great disappointment because I like sf and I like adventures in a post-apocalyptic Earth. In this story however many things don't make sense. I won't go into details but the decisions people take are just plain stupid. The average IQ of the characters is about 70, maybe even less. I caught my self thinking "that's ridiculous" numerous times.

Still I watched almost all of the show. It could have been a great one if someone else wrote the story.

Incomplete, many mysteries, few answers
6 January 2020
I forced myself to give this a positive score mainly out of respect for the main actors. Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies are excellent. I am however very disappointed.

Season one was good and very promising, season two was ok. Season three was terrible! I was there wondering what is going on with the aliens and what will happen in the main story and instead what did a get, a couple having problems. Will the main character has nothing in common with himself as we knew him. He is a pathetic version of himself, drinking and sinking into his misery.

I want to ask a simple question if I wanted to see husband/wife problems and psychological problems and communication problems would I watch sci fi? Of course not! I would watch a series of a different genre. To the writers, why did you create such a wonderful couple? just to ruin it in season three?

Also their son Bram takes some decisions which make no sense. I don't think that such an idiot boy even exists.

Anyway avoid season three, you have been warned.

Awfull

This is not a western. This is a melodrama where everybody gets killed or ruined. Very, very, very disappointing. Sick story where everybody suffers.

Excellent for it's kind
3 November 2019
This movie is basically for kids. And those who have the kid inside them still alive. I saw it in my forties and still liked it.

It certainly isn't Bergman, so don't expect Oscar performances or deep meanings. Btw I do like some of the movies of Bergman, Bunuel, Taviani and others first class directors. But I liked this one too.

Bottom line, go see this movie. Take your kids with you (if they are boys).

It's bad

This is basically an action movie. However, the action scenes are not convincing at all. At some points it made me laugh. The main actor is pretty though.

There is no end to masochism
6 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I used to watch this series and even though it's not great, I considered it acceptable. This last episode however changed it to unacceptable.

Long has June Osborn suffered as a handmaid and we have suffered along with her. So, since she escaped I was hoping we would see something different. I was wrong! The guys responsible decided that she hasn't suffered long enough and I suppose the rest of the show will be more of the same. Btw when you are running away from such oppression and you are on an airplane you don't stop. If the best you can hope for is a bullet on the head why stop.

So, if you want more torture and humiliation for June all the better for you, or, if you prefer, you can change channel as I do.

Maybe the downfall of a good show
13 April 2018
This is a review for the particular episode not the whole show. I would give a 9 to the show up to now.

Another user wrote: "The beauty of this show is that it revisits some interesting moments in history and it is visited by a beloved team that are easy to like" I agree wholeheartedly. Furthermore it adds some details which make the stories even more exciting.

It was however very disappointing seeing Wyatt begging that hollow girl. Especially since he has found Lucy. One man two women, nothing could have been more cliche.

Pretentious, unreal, idiotic, awful
8 November 2016
I saw this film today and I totally didn't like it. Awful, idiotic and pretentious. There is this Jew prisoner who wants to give a dead boy a proper burial. That's right, right there in the concentration camp. Are we supposed to believe this? And even if that could happen how are we to relate to that completely insane and idiotic person? Well some people liked it!

OK I haven't served as a prisoner in a concentration camp but I can think of a couple things I could do there and giving a boy a proper burial is not one of them. I could maybe try to escape, revolt or just provoke them to kill me.

Also in most films taking place in WWII all Germans and mean literally everyone is bad or worse. This film of course is no exception. At least in "the pianist" there was one German who treated the protagonist nicely.
