Get Lucky (2013)
Entertaining
Saw Get Lucky at the cinema a couple of weeks ago. I was not sure what to expect from seeing the on-line trailers. Based on two brothers Lucky and Raphael, who earn a living less honest than most who team up with some EU underworld. The Job an underground casino heist. I was open minded at first, the film managed to keep me interested all the way to the end. With twists and turns throughout and some humour. Enjoyed this film on face value. I did not look to deep into it. Really enjoyed Get Lucky and it comes with the added bonus of seeing Emily Attack from Inbetweeners fame. Will watch again on DVD with my mates and some beers.
The Wee Man (2013)
Great Watch
Really enjoyed Wee Man. It made it more interesting knowing it is based on the true life story of Paul Ferris. A Scottish gangster who was into crime at 17 and a main Glasgow gangster from the 80s. This story shows how he was bullied, betrayed, loyalties tried and the power gained and the terror maintained. With flash backs of the sound advice from his father he ignored. With the violence In and out of prison. I was unaware of these events until seeing this film. Don't remember if his terror made the news. This British gangster film is well worth a watch. The ending of the film left it open for a sequel. Will go and read the books now.
Casuals: The Story of the Legendary Terrace Fashion (2011)
Classic
This DVD will keep you intrigued all the way through. It's a comprehensive look at the 80s Casual scene. It's not just for the casual but for anyone interested in street fashion and culture. You will also see the impact on what this fashion has had on today's high street fashion. Includes a look at today's youth who have adopted the Mod / Casual look. Interviews with some of the label brands of the time. The extras are just as good with a running time of 75 minutes. The main feature also runs for 75 minutes. There are features that an original 80s casual might not be aware of, a casual outfit in a museum, a casual band that played at Stamford Bridge. Well worth it.
