The Gentlemen (2019)
Bit clunky!
This is a typical Guy Ritchie film. Plenty of action, deaths, bad language and occasional laughs. Some of the scenes are Pulp Fiction-esque. There's not a lot new here, but the film moves along quite nicely. Not overly keen on the storytelling format of the film, and Hugh Grant goes on a bit too much. Matthew Mcconaughey is well cast, Colin Farrell steals the show and will probably win some awards for his performance. Some poor script writing at times, but overall well worth a watch.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Perfectly adequate!
People who don't like these Disney made films and only like the original star wars trilogy will rate this poorly. So ignore them. That's because they are being snobbish. There is nothing wrong with this film. Loose ends are tied, non stop action, occasional melodrama, some nostalgia and a reasonable ending. Just go in, switch off and enjoy the film. And don't be a Star Wars snob. Job done. Still better than any other series of films because of the variety of content.
The Cockfields (2019)
How did this get made?
How did this get made? Don't they have pilots anymore? Because this is dreary and not funny. It grates on you. I didn't laugh once. I watched 1 1/2 episodes hoping it would improve. It didn't. Sadly I won't get that time back. Wasted opportunity.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Overly long
Practically nothing happens in the first 90 minutes, then it eventually speeds up. Usual overly long battle scenes, sone sad moments and enough laughs to keep you interested. Can see more spin offs coming at some stage to keep the money rolling in.
The Favourite (2018)
Boring. Couldn't wait for it to end
Overly long, not overly funny, some good acting (especially by RW), dreadful soundtrack, frequent coarse language, one dimensional plot, lots of vomit, poor ending. In summary, dull.
Halloween (2018)
Awful
Same old script, i.e. bus crash and escape. No police actually go after him at any point (except one!), noone telling the general public there is a killer on the loose, let's switch off all the lights so we can't see him very easily. Very poor script. Terrible. Wasted opportunity.
