Hunter Killer (2018)
Got to say f#*k the critics for this one
What exactly do the critics watch movies for? Just to critique the hell out of them?
Here is a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining action thriller that thoroughly entertains and didn't make me full like I just wasted 2 hours of my life and what do I get from the critics? Criticism!
I mean there are plot holes and lack of backstory for leading characters but hey, I suspended disbelief to get entertained for this one and it was worth it in the end.
So once again F@&K THE CRITICS!
The Ballad of Lefty Brown (2017)
Straight out of them old Western comic books I loved so much and I loved The Ballad of Left Brown too...
I loved those old Western comic books. This was scripted like one too. Not enough depth to allow for a lot of character development but the pace, the wilderness (i found myself in the middle of this wilderness as depicted), the colour, the gunslingers, the gunfights and then there was Lefty Brown! Pullman as Lefty Brown is deserving of an Oscar. Pullman was nothing but Lefty Brown. Typical botchering, bungling, blunderer. Before the movie was over I found myself looking out for him. Rooting for him. Wanting him to be alright. Wanting him to win. I thoroughly enjoyed this flick and I will watch it again some time.
Lucky Number Slevin (2006)
A Copy of an Original
My buddy rated this film high when he said it's almost as good as The Usual Suspect. That is some rating by any standards. By the time the film ended I could not wait to get up and find something better to do.
The style was the first thing that hit me -Tarantino! Tarantino's use of eccentric characters even when not believable never fail to capture the imagination. There just was nothing believable or imaginative about the characters of Freeman and Kingsley. They both came across as annoying most of the time.
A decent enough copy. Tried too had to inject a twist and when it came....
The film maker's only coup was casting Bruce Willis.
