Reboot (2022)
Seriously Hulu - Cancelled?!
I rarely laugh at every.single.episode of a tv series and this was a rare treat! Hard to believe it got canceled, I'm pissed. Maybe if I'd watched it when it was first released I could have told all my friends to watch it and perhaps it'd still be on, dammit!
The actors were funny, and it was great to see Paul Reiser back in action! I love Key and Judy Greer too!
Irreverent, quick-witted, and fresh, it's hard to believe that a Steven Levitan show didn't make it!
If there was any way to get Hulu to reboot reboot, I'd watch every episode multiple times!
Tell me who I can contact to get this show back on the air!
The Real O'Neals (2016)
Wanted to see more of this family
This was a cute show with good actors and entertaining writing. Would have enjoyed seeing more about this family, growing and changing as each of them began to get more "real". Fortunately the actors went on to other roles.
Knowing that the Catholic Church had some complaints about the show makes me wonder if people were turned away from the show because of it.
There was a lot of potential for this show to continue to explore the themes it began with and for viewers to be educated on them.
It was never a hilarious comedy, but it was funny and heartwarming. Wondering what really caused the drop in ratings...
Black·ish (2014)
Thoroughly enjoyed this show
As a 60-something-year-old white woman, I found this show extremely entertaining and informative. I laughed, cried, and learned, as the Johnson family grew and changed over the years.
I'm grateful that Anthony Anderson portrayed a strong Black father, working hard to teach his children what their culture means, while balancing the blessings of financial independence based on a successful career.
Tracee Ellis-Ross as Bow was an inspiration to many as well. Her marriage, her career, and her family were all well managed and I found her perspective refreshing.
Watching the children's lives change and their characters develop was fun! And the grandparents were equally funny.
Those who have criticized the show for being "racist", shame on you. Being open to hearing a different perspective from that which you've grown up with is a wonderful experience. If you're not willing to learn, then change the channel and move on!
A Star Is Born (2018)
Tsk Tsk All You Haters
Anyone who has never written a poem, short story, novel or movie script has no business being as critical as some of the reviewers here!
I'm a huge fan of the 1976 Streisand/Kristofferson version of this movie and never thought I'd see anything remotely close to the music and chemistry I loved so much for many years. I was proven otherwise.
I really didn't know Lady Gaga's music, only her reputation for being outspoken and flamboyant, and I had no expectations of what she would do in this film. I was blown away by the raw emotion she brought to the role. Needless to say, I adore her voice - her vocals were flawless.
As for Bradley Cooper as Jackson Maine - wow! Again, I was pleasantly surprised by his transformation to a believable character whose brother is played by Sam Elliott!
Everyone knows the damn story - it's been done four times now - meaning that the criticism of the story is ridiculous, at best.
Bravo to all the principal actors, the musicians, and to Bradley Cooper for his directing. I bought the extended version of the film and the soundtrack as well. And I'll enjoy both for many years.
Meet Cute (2022)
A little disappointed at the end
It reminded me more of "The Butterfly Effect" (not sure how many people actually saw that movie but Ashton Kutcher was great in it) than "Groundhog Day", although the ending was pretty anti-climactic.
Overall a good story and I'm glad it didn't continue to be dark. I was afraid that one of them was already dead and the other was in an institution.
The symbolism was good too, but there could've been more. Maybe I need to watch it again.
Definitely not a rom-com, but certainly did not disappoint me. I'm a fan of both actors, and am always happy to see them in serious roles.
Peacock, you did good!
