YellowBrickRoad (2010)
Excellent Horror movie - Underrated!
Well this looks like a small budget movie, but it's great new concept of horror. This is proof that good movies are possible without great amount of money. The screenplay is amazing and well directed, the acting is very solid, but what captivated me was the story, the concept. This movie will make you feel uncomfortable and nervous. You don't really know what's going on until the very end! Like I said this brings a new blood to horror stories and i hope to see more of this director's work! 4.6 is totally underrated score for this movie, I mean it's not an "easy" film to digest but it's worth every minute of it. I give a 8 star score.
Insidious (2010)
The best since "Poltergeist"
James Wan's finest! A very well-directed and written movie, no doubt. As I was watching i had visions from "Poltergeist" and "The Entity". Wan payed a great homage to these paranormal movies of the 80's and won't let you down. This is a very good movie, worth watching in a movie theater. And it scares, in these days it's hard to come by. The key Wan uses here is to keep it simple and clean, no gore or violence but following a solid story makes this film much stronger than just a horror and gory movie. Wan is not used to this, that's why we see a more serious side of him, that I loved. This one did take me back to those days and trust me, it scares! Let's not also forget the presence of Barbara Hershey, the one who scared a generation in "The Entity". Go see this, if you love paranormal, this is the right formula for a good movie.
The Dark Knight (2008)
Best Bat since Burton
Finally a good super-hero movie since many years. Nolan's vision and screenplay is wonderful and Bale is amazing batman. However, I believe that Tim Burton still leads the Batman tales. His vision of a dark Gotham and a unique joker (Nicholson) are still undefeated. That's exactly what lacks in the Dark Knight. Hedger is a very good joker but they should write him as a more sarcastic and gadget-lover bad guy. Gotham should be darker, no doubt. But these details apart, the movie is just amazing and powerful. Characters are well portrayed and believable. Super Hero movies are all about a guy that uses his powers and gadgets but tell no tale. The Dark Knight has philosophy and is deeper, more human-like in emotions. A very good movie that I hope they continue this quality in the future.
Grizzly Park (2008)
Worst horror movie ever
I actually bothered myself to comment this film, directed by the unknown Tom Skull. Now, I am a filmmaker and I have to work and fight a lot to get half the money this movie got. And yet here it is, how is possible to make such an awful picture. Ed Wood, please return, we forgive you. Please, do not ever watch this, don't waste your money, don't even download it. This film's like a bad version of Friday the 13th, but with lousy bears that actually do a better role than the actors. Glenn Morshower, he is the only good thing in this. And i'm surprised why he accepted the role. Let's hope somebody erases this film from history. Still it got my comment to it :)
