It's TG but backwards..
19 November 2016
I really enjoyed the pilot episode for GT, I love how they started it with the trio in the Mustang's, and the constant BBC abuse! It was brilliant and you can tell that they really thought about how this was going to be developed. As a long time fan of Top Gear, I have kept an open mind for both shows. Although I do enjoy the new Top Gear in parts, the overall package is with the trio and GT. However, that being said some parts in the first episode were a bit awkward, which is to be expected on the first episode as they reintroduce new elements (well revamped elements) of the show, for example 'The American' instead of 'The Stig', and the when the celebrities came for their 'interviews' but it resulted in their demise (which I did find funny but I felt they dragged it on too much). Otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed it and cannot wait until they show us more! I love the fact it's in different countries as the audience will always be diverse and different, I felt that the American audience were great and really showed their enthusiasm (even if Jeremy slates them!).

Overall it is a strong pilot with plenty more to come. The visuals are incredible, and although TG has amazing visuals as well you can tell that Amazon has poured every piece of tech they could find. I suspect the TG office to be scrambling around right now!

Whoa....

Amazing. Epic. Stunning. Beautiful. Insane. All these words describe this intense movie.

Just got back from watching this and my oh my was I stunned. Nolan does it again, and even though with some movies a third one is somewhat 'cliched', this one hit the nail on the head. It is truly stunning and the cinematography is immense!

I never lost interest throughout the whole movie and it truly gets your attention, from the sound effects to the visual effects.

Also, it all ties in perfectly towards the end, a lot of movies lose the plot and end on an irrelevant note, but this movie ends extremely well.

So, what are you still doing reading my review? Go and watch it!

Great show!
5 March 2012
Even though this show only last one season, it was a great show, and I used to look forward to watching it.

It really annoys me to why companies cancel really good shows and then start up really horrible ones, this one could have been a replacement for a major show but they cancelled it off like they cancelled 'V 2009'. Really disappointed, but nevertheless it happens too much these days.

Plot was solid, the characters tied it all together exceptionally well and I really really loved how the show progressed. I even read the whole book after the series ended, that's how good I thought it was.

The whole perception part of the show was epic, and i'll probably get round to watching this show again just for a recap.

If you haven't seen this yet, then you have to, it's one of those shows you cannot miss.

An interesting take...
5 March 2012
I'm one of those people who, when a season of a TV show is cancelled or finishes, go on the prowl to look for my next show to watch religiously. This is one of them.

At first I thought this show didn't have much potential and wouldn't be well received.. but i was wrong!

Really interesting take on the genre, and I like the whole plot about using ex cons to take out cons, whilst working with the police dept. All the characters do well and I have to mention Doc, the quirky and fidgety character who really shines.

I watched the Season 2 Premiere last night, and I was utterly shocked at the outcome, I was NOT expecting that at all. Not sure if I think this show will do well now because of that, but I'm certainly interested and intrigued to what will happen next, so I'm not going to spoil it for you folks, watch Season 2 Ep 1 and you'll see what I mean.

Overall a really enjoyable show with likable characters, and I'll be watching this until it's cancelled.

Chuck me.. amazing.
5 March 2012
Chuck. What can I say? This was one of the best TV shows to air, and I used to watch this religiously every week.

When it first aired in 2007 I was pleasantly surprised to how GOOD this show was, and as years passed and seasons did it just got even better. Chuck and Sarah were amazing together in this show and right to the end it portrayed out strong and resilient they can be. I loved how fun and quirky this show was, when you had a depressive and bad day, and sit down to watch this, you'll end the show with a massive grin on your face and wanting more.

If anyone has not seen this yet, I urge you to watch it, you will not be disappointed, i'm even planning to watch seasons 1-5 all over again!

Of course, some people have negative things to say about this show, but to be honest it's not supposed to be a massive crime thriller, it's a romantic, comedic, shoot em up show, which I will remember for years to come, unless NBC can top this show (which I doubt). They really shouldn't have cancelled it but I guess that is the norm these days.

All the characters, John Casey, Sarah, Chuck, Morgan, Big Mike, Lester, Jeff and so on, made the show so vibrant and did an amazing job, hats off to them!

Overall, 10 stars, exceeded my expectations and yes it even made me, a grown man, dwell tears in some parts!

See it, you'll find it chucktastic.

Intense..
4 March 2012
Just got back from watching this, and must I say it's rather good. I'm a fan of Neeson's movies but sometimes find them very clichéd to the fact that he's always the 'boss', like an older Stone, but this movie stood out than the other ones such as Taken etc.

Firstly, acting was top notch, all did a great job. I was literally intense throughout the whole movie, even put my hands in front of my eyes and peeked through in some scenes, the build up was done extremely well! It's a very sinister and dark movie, like everyone else I was expecting a vaguely happy ending with at least Neeson getting away, but what this movie is, is depicting mankind and how we survive in such circumstances, how we deal with certain issues outside our comfort zone and how we respond to death.

Have to mention how great the soundtrack was as well! The wolves were ferocious and took no prisoners, along with the snow. Shows how brutal nature can be. Something different was collecting everyones wallets, and I thought that was a good act.

I only have one small issue with this movie... it's too slow in some parts, and needed a bit more action (even though I do understand it was trying to depict a real life and death situation, bit hard fighting a pack of mad wolves, but it's still a movie!)

However I still found this film really good, and had me one edge throughout.

recommended!

Hmmm..
4 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
This is a blunt and quirky film, and it's actually not that bad (I was expecting it to be worse!)

Charlize Theron did a great job acting, her facial expressions and actions, and attitude made her character really stand out, however her 'teenage throb' wasn't as good and it also felt like the story swayed a lot and didn't focus on one thing.

As other reviewers have said, this can make you feel quite depressed as it's not the most happiest film in the world, Theron is depicted as a mad woman who wants to break a marriage up, she doesn't care about anyone else apart from herself, and has major personal and work issues. If i'm honest though, the movie did seem a bit bland, when Theron and Wilson kissed on the porch, there was NO reference at all afterwards about it, it was like it never happened and neither of them brought it up.

However, nit picking aside, overall it wasn't that bad, but it's only a flick you'll watch once.

One thing is for sure: I felt HUGELY sorry for the dog. poor thing.

Why the sour face?
1 March 2012
first of all a lot of people need to lighten up and look at this movie for what it is: a feel good, hilarious, quirky movie. Jonah is always extremely funny and I laughed so much during this movie, and I loved how it had little moral stories hidden inside!

Yes this movie isn't a work of art, or anything special, but seriously, who cares? it's GREAT entertainment and makes you laugh, smile, cry, feel great, so just enjoy it!

I guess the term 'haters gonna hate' always applies, however I found this movie exceptional and loved every bit of it. The kids made the movie a whole lot more enjoyable, especially Rodrigo.

EPIC flick.

Had potential.. bad acting let it down!
12 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
First of all I'm not so sure to how some people can give this a 10 star rating, it is a good film in terms of action and entertainment but not much else. I decided to watch this because I loved the movie 'Outlander' which starred Jim.

The storyline isn't anything new. Acting is on par, but in some parts it is too hollow and overdone (which I will explain).

I was disappointed by Jim Caviezel's acting however, I felt he could have done a lot better (compared to his past titles), but the same can be said about the whole cast.

Elisabeth Röhm cannot shoot a gun to save her life. Sorry but when she has an exclusive part at shooting at the gang of thieves her facial expression is plain, boring and it does not make her look angry in any way whatsoever. That scene made me cringe, a lot.

This movie revolves solely around Jim's relationship between his family and how he wants to make things right after spending time in jail for committing fraud, a son who doesn't respect him and a wife who doesn't trust him. Then you have four villains who have stashed $4 million on the top of their Land Rover, to pass a Police border check.

It had great potential, but severely let down by the cast and acting, it was extremely cringey in some places. It certainly is not 'amazing' and it felt unpolished.

Watch it if you have nothing else to watch, it's not the worst movie ever, but not the best. And there are no twists in this movie, only one which (kind of) shocked me but i'll let you figure that out!

Utterly Astonishing
8 January 2012
I cannot believe I waited so long to watch this film. I convinced myself it'd be another long and confusing movie which I'd leave for a while until I have the mental strength to watch it, now I regret not even watching this in the Cinema.

An exceptional masterpiece, Caprio performs amazingly as does the whole cast. Some parts did confuse me, but that is how complex the plot is, complex enough to involve you, but still at the end of the movie you understand everything.

I cannot recommend this movie enough, it also keeps a huge grin on your face near the end, plus tears of joy. It keeps you perplexed, involved, on edge, and most importantly it never strays from the main plot.

Watch this before you watch ANYTHING else.

10/10, amazing.

Overall a good movie, BUT...
1 January 2012
I'm not amazing with writing massive reviews so I'm going to summarise how I felt about this film.

The good parts:

  • Great action, as always - Comedy was well played out and in the right parts, and not too cheesy - Visuals were brilliant! - Acting was superb

The bad parts:

  • Story line was boring. Sorry but it's just a normal plot about a nuclear bomb being sent to explode America, and the ending was EXTREMELY clichéd. - Nothing new, there was no twist at all, compared to the older films. - Although the action did keep you on edge, the plot didn't because you knew what was going to happen (no twist once more)

In summary: It is worth a watch, but you won't be blown away by it or the storyline. Still a great film and I recommend it if you're into solid action.

Terrible, waste of time.
1 January 2012
Let me start by first saying, I was hoping this would be a good flick as it had Diaz in it. Boy, was I wrong.

The plot was dry, it didn't work, it didn't make ANY sense. The acting was awful, Diaz really cannot pull off that type of acting. I gave the movie a chance half way through and kept on watching it, but now I wish I burned the DVD.

There isn't much I want to say about this movie, only warning others. Do not 'over-estimate' this film, you'll be extremely disappointed.

There is not one good part about this movie, I was bored all the way through it and couldn't see why people could even give it 5/10 due to the lack of entertainment and storyline present in this film.

avoid.
