Not as good as the one before
5 May 2024
The drawing style is pretty good though I feel the previous series was slightly better as it had better atmosphere.

The main issue is that the story moves too far from the original formula.

The new story is set in Revolutionary France but everything is "micro-adjusted" to fit a specific artificial narrative. Feels a like like the characters, story, dialogue all are forced into specific boxes.

The characters are more diverse cast now. Dracula no longer relevant instead is been replaced by another antagonist and she's not as scary to be honest. Belmont has been nerfed into a an insecure, young weakling. They tried to make it look strong by giving him raunchy lines but just looks bad.

The show keeps trying to associate revolution with emancipation and freedom and monarchy with vampires and evil at every corner.

Overall I'd say is not worth watching. The quality of their shows is getting worse and worse. The dialogue of the show is just terrible.

Animation 9/10 Characters 5/10 Story 2/10.

Is sad so many people decided to hate on it.

Looking at the comments seems on one hand you have classics purists who hate everything new tries to duplicate the look and feel and on the other hand the modern animation lovers who hated the "bad" animation and the gore.

I personally thought this movie was a gem.

The story is interesting and is set in a fictional world. The different cultures represented all seems to espouse a kind of ignorance meets corruption. The there of the story is power corrupts. An knowledge or the control of it is a double edged sword : it can help you create and can help you destroy. In the end all is meaningless except the human need to crush one another.

As George Orwell puts it

"always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - for ever."

The movie is very gory and violent. But there are moments of peace, of wonder, of tranquility. The pacing is slow and yet so much happens.

Is sad that this type of work gets a 6 meanwhile a show such as fallout gets 9. I think ultimately people did not get it or just couldn't watch it because of all the gore and just decided to hate it because is much easier to hate than to understand.

Someone said unwatchable. I will have to watch it a few times to fully see everything.

Someone else said the characters are not memorable. Each of the culture presented from the early beginning in the swamps to the end; each of them is quite unique and memorable. Each culture has it's own moment to shine and fade.

I think the music could have been better but otherwise 9/10.

Landfill quality
29 March 2024
Reading through reviews it appears is very polarizing movie but is to be expected.

Many of the positive reviews come from her fans. I mean let's face it she could war a shoe on her head for the entire duration of the film and you'd still like it. So if you're a fan then you gonna like it.

For everyone else I am sorry to disappoint you but the movie is not great. Brown's performance is poor, the plot is lame, and the movie is largely garbage. The lead acctress pioneers an entirely new type of strong female role: the cute giggly girl with a hidden fire that bruns brighter than a Dragon's fire. And the entire movie she shoes her inner fire by hiding behind rocks.

Rating: landfill.

Don't waste your time

Movie starts off with a politician promissing equal pay for women, racial equality and universal health care . But the whole thing is a carricature of politician. It almost comes off as making fun of liberals. She sounds and even acts like a rockstar on stage.

Moments later a mob of people want someone dead. Guess what you see confederate flag everywhere. A bunch of cops try to protect her. She says she didn't do anything but unload the gun at them. I think is meant to portray republicans as rednecks but comes off completelt wrong. She didn't do anything but try to shoot them?

The whole movie is a badly written caricature. Huge pass on this one.

Good Boys (2019)
A lot of reviews seem to miss the point of this movie
29 January 2022
So yes their lines are raunchy which is totally inappropriate. Yes it gets old fast. Yes they are swearing like sailors. Also yes the movie is a one trick pony revolving around kids who swear and talk about sex.

However, what is this movie really about? This is a coming of age film set in the digital age. Everything hits you all at once. Everyone is permanently connected to the internet.

These kids grew up using cellphones as toys. Is no wonder they turned out this way. The movie is obviously exagerrated for comedic effect but is also unintentionally a commentary on the reality our present reality our kids grow up in.

Is funny only because the movie is presented from the viewpoint of a child who has been exposed to all this information but they try to make sense of it with their kid brains. I gave it a 10 for all the people to gave it a 1 . Doesn't deserve a 1. Is funny but even more so is pertinent.

This is what kids today grow up in. This is the world we created for them. If truth bothers you go ahead give it a 1.

Funny only if you hate yourself
4 July 2020
Show was okay until around 2017 when I saw some of the worst people glorify this TV show. I took a bit of a break and when I came back the show is not funny anymore. Pickle rick and some guy drinking with barf all over his mouth and some insecure kid who never grows up. Why is that funny? I guess it makes sense to people living in America as it reflects a certain depression or apathy towards the times we live in. I just don't feel like this show has anything to teach. If you love sarcasm and self-deprecating humor and nihilism then you gonna love it but is not for me. Too many people gave it 10/10 so I decided to give it a 1 to balance out.

Generic film
28 June 2016
Is 2016 not 1960. I think is time to retire these Hollywood tropes and formulaic movie writing.

Sure great special effects, great actors, pretty good acting etc etc. OK so you got all these mutants blah-pi-ty-doo great story. We all love X-Men.

But what makes this movie different than say any other movie? What makes it original or unique aside from the story. Nothing. Is just same script with different actors and different sets.

By now we can all guess what's about to happen. In 1920-1960 these ideas might have been fresh but now they are just repetitive.

I'd give this 0 stars if I could.

Interstellar (2014)
Terrible film
21 November 2014
This movie would have been better if it was only about TARS and drones and robots and completely remove humans characters and the damn corny filler dialogue.

All that hard science, special effects, scientists working together, making it seem most real bound together by fantasy and bullshit and missing plot lines and time paradoxes and love and religion. This movie is really a cheeseball Hollywood film with a hard science backdrop.

The characters were as flat as a piece of paper. The guy likes the girl, the daughter is mad at dad, dad loves daughter doesn't care about saving mankind. Even TARS had more personality than many of the movie's characters. The daughter was probably most developed but felt so off. Still she holds a grudge 30 years later.

Is a movie for average joe blow using the bedazzle tactic of impressing you with confusing story, special effects and hard science when is really no meat and nothing useful

TARS gets 10/10 rest of the movie 1/10

I have learned nothing. Made me think about nothing. Wasted my time.

Bad movie.
4 August 2014
I'll make it short and to the point.

1. The premise for this movie is wrong. We don't use only 10% of the brain not do we use 3%, 7%, 27% or any other number. Urban myth proved wrong many times over.

2. Dialogue is often really bad. Really bad acting that breaks the immersion. Overacting, underacting and fake acting pretty common. I counted only once that the dialogue was interesting.

3. This movie promotes dumb urban myth based pseudoscience that has already been proved wrong and from that point of view is not as much a science fiction as is just plain stupid.

4. Sometimes the action scenes have really out of place music which turn action into slow paced hard to watch boring scenes.

Too bad

To all of you rating it 1 out of 10

Warning: Spoilers
Again I step up to give this movie a perfect 10 only because there are so many people giving it 1 star. After all the effort , money and thinking put into this movie it does not deserve 1 star. You simply cannot give it 1 star. Even the worst movies ever made on IMDb get at least 1.5 stars. I cannot take people seriously with their reviews if they give it 1 star. Why even bother writing? I read a few and they all have really bad and repetitive things to say. You could say my review specifically targets you haters out there.

I noticed there are a few reasons that everyone points out : 1. science of the movie was bad 2. movie was against religion 3. ending was stupid

Okay I did some research turns out the premise of the movie is fair to say the least. A phenomena called Q-ball infection can indeed cause the sun or any other matter for that sort to turn into dark matter effectively giving the impression the sun is dimming down. Eventually will end up being dark matter and no longer visible. I am not sure but I think gravity may stay the same or increase. The idea of the movie is create a bomb that makes Q- balls naturally decay in a chain reaction. This bomb the size of Manhattan requires a lot of materials which indeed only a few can be made with the materials found on earth.

** spoiler alert ** The secondary premise of the movie was god vs science. The original story was you the scientists meet god on the mission . Being close to the sun was being closest to God they have ever been. However I think Danny Boyle changed that for extra climatic effect. And I think this is where everyone's beef comes from.

The ending of the movie is purely speculative from science or art department so the director and writer decided to make it their own interpretation. NASA uses artists interpretations all the time to think about how far away planets might look like. Or old movies had ideas about how Mars or Venus looks like. Is fair to say the ending is simply an artist rendering of being close to the speed of light and time being stretched to infinity. In fact from the perspective of Cappa that moment never ends. Since he is inside the falling cube time inside appears to be normal until is close to sped of light when we don't know. Nobody knows. Nobody has fallen at the speed of light to see what happens. Again, purely speculative. I would not give it 1 star just cause nobody knows what happens if you fall at the speed of light. For extra effect he appears to be touching the sun. From out perspective he will instantly vanish and explode. From his perspective the sun will take forever to burn him. **spoiler ending **

All in all I'd say this movie was great accurate enough scientifically and entertaining enough to give it at least 7, 7.5, 8 our of 10 NOT 1 star. Come on.

Mind Game (I) (2004)
Probably the most underrated animation in Japanese cinema.
7 January 2013
This movie is to a human mind what solving a really complex formula is to a physicist: an eureka! What I mean by this is this movie has all the elements of a life changing experience. You go expecting another entertaining dime-a-dozen type of film but you come out bewildered instead. Okay sure maybe this is a bit of an overstatement but it deserves some overstating since it only gets a poor review of not even 8 stars here on IMDb. I decided to give it a full 10.

I am not going to spoil the experience for you and I will just to sum it up in a few short words. This is the story of a loser named Nishi who bumps into his old flame while she's being chased by some bad guys. They eventually end up the girl's family restaurant where bad guys show up things go horribly wrong and everything changes for everyone.

I found the little snippets in between the story to be most valuable rather than the story itself. Although you need to follow the story closely to understand the snippets. Is is the little things that count. This movie is a lesson. Maybe some sort of don't do what I did type of lesson I don't know. But whatever it is I feel is the only drug you can take visually.

Enjoy.
