Barry (2018)
Barry is a great show, but...
You'll hate all the characters. They are all awful people, and the show has less and less levity as it goes on. It's great, but often hard to watch.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)
Re-Watch this movie!!!
I recently watched all 4 movies in a row, and without going into it fully, this movie is multitudes better than Temple of Doom and much closer to the caliber or Raiders and TLC. People complain it was too action packed or that the action was too over the top, but there is plenty of good dialogue/puzzle solving and the action is well implemented. Indy has always pulled off some pretty dodgy stunts and no one cared.
I think it was just popular to hate this movie.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Don't you want nuance?
Most reviews I have read condemn Rian Johnson for placing Luke Skywalker in a place of "Grey Jedi" ala "Jolee Bindo". But I believe that very much his natural evolution of an un-directed Luke toward his understanding of the force, makes sense. And hence his direction of Rey's training is understandable.
The main characters of this series are Rey and Kylo and the Dynamic of that relationship will only be truly defined in the 9th film.
The Jedi and the Sith are very absolute understandings of the universe/force, but for Luke to feel like the balnce lies in the Grey maks sense to me.
Do I think Poe, and Finn, and Holdo's storylines were irritating? Yes!!!!!! but that is litterally how the chain of command works. I don't feel it was designed to eat time (like EP VI forest scenes), I feel like it was designed to raise excitement to the payoff, which I also feel is fine for a Star Wars movies.
Honestly, is it my favourite movie? Not yet. But I believe Rian Johnson is a fan of the extended Star Wars universe and hence fans of the movies may find conflict in thin movie.
For those who have not ventured out of the film universe, hold tight. the conclusion to the trilogy is yet to end.
Iron Fist (2017)
Just as good, if not better than previous Marvel/Netflix Shows
this will be a very candid and short review.
Iron Fist is less accessible to a large audience than past marvel entries.
It doesn't really real with middle to lower-class indecencies/suffering like "Daredevil" or "Luke Cage". It is Marvel's Wolf of Wall Street.
Marvel Movie's/shows remain fresh and interesting because they manipulate genre and stylistic choices to differentiate their films.
Iron Fist is much more similar to daredevil than any other Marvel/Netflix show. However it does more to present Danny as a human with extreme circumstances forced upon him.
Whilst the idea of white-washing and upper-class heroes may deter some, don't let it destroy a well told story of human resilience.

The Other Guy (2017)
Clever, gripping and ultimately heart-wrenching
"The Other Guy" is not a feel good, packed to the rafters, clean-cut, Australian "dramedy".
What it is, is a well thought out character study that clearly comes from a real place in Matt Okine's mind/past. The themes here are heavy, highlighted by extreme yet believable characters; people we have all dated, bumped into, or shared a house with at some point in our lives.
AJ acts as a lens through which the audience can watch, and the show does an excellent job of making the viewer empathise with him. As such, the constant blame and misfortune that falls on AJ is angering, making the actions of those around him feel personal to the viewer.
Clever writing with an understanding of Australian culture is what grounds "The Other Guy", the relationships are painfully real, and the supporting cast reflect very much the duality of relationships in the modern day.
If you want a great new show to watch, this is a great one. Just be prepared to have a huge gaping hole in your chest by the end of season 1
