Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
Writers part from the original movies.
I'll keep this short. Clearly a merchandise money grab from Disney (again). It is obvious none of the writers have watched The New Hope. This series is an insult to the true fans. Time to cancel Disney Plus. Lucas should be ashamed for letting his franchise end up in the toilet.
The Preppie Connection (2015)
Absolutely awful
I rarely write reviews, but this was so awful I felt compelled to warn other unsuspecting viewers. I thought this was going to be a movie of some rich jerk turned drug mule and have to do hard time....nope. Just a bunch of rich kids hooked on Coke. I prayed they would all get caught and have horrible lives as the karma bug comes around. No such luck the prep gets off with probation and everyone else goes on like it never happened. The sets were awful, I think they had a tight budget. It's set in the 80's, however, not one hairstyle, song or anything else made an appearance from that decade save the corded phones. Speaking of phones, I think the producers phones this film in.
True Blood: Thank You (2014)
True Crud
Normally I get excited to see how a series will wrap up it's loose ends and at the same time give it's loyal viewers an explosive ending. But I knew something was up from the first episode of the final season, I think since the horrible ending to the Sopranos, writers feel compelled to out-do each other on how bad they can disregard there loyal viewers with crappy endings. I had DVR'd the last two episodes since I wasn't home. When I watched the second to the last episode, I was so bored I literally fast forwarded through most of it...total yawn fest. I would go into to more detail but there was nothing worth noting. And to wrap up the season, it took forever to kill Bill...I didn't read the books but why couldn't they kill Sookie too, she was the worst character of the entire season.
Gravity (2013)
What were they thinking
I would have voted zero if possible. Film would have been better if there were no actors. I don't usually jump on to leave a review, but after this awful piece of writing I felt compelled to give my two cents. First, if you believe for one minute that they would send a crew into space that were not familiar with one another you probably liked the movie. Second, the good DR admitted she could barely land the U.S. Shuttle in the simulator but has no problem reading and writing in Russian AND Chinese, power their vessels and manipulate the controls. By the way, how exactly do you slam into an object in outer space and not become space putty? Third, after being stranded in zero gravity, which you would not be able to tell by Sandra's hair, how is it her muscles remained as strong as they have to where she can just swim away from a capsule that for unknown reasons did not burn up into millions of pieces during re-entry. This movie has more flaws than the ACA. If you value your time and money stay farther away from this film than the MIR Space Station was from the Shuttle.
The Strangers (2008)
Very predictable, fell well short of scary.
Gave it a one because zero is not an option. Too much to pick apart in this horrible cliché of every B rated horror flick out there. So many warning bells should have went off in the painful lead up of the eventual killings, you have to wonder the intelligence level of the victims. The thing that sticks out most is that in todays technological age the writer manages to keep the actors from being able to dial 911 even though there is a house phone and 3 cell phones. Of course the land line gets cut while she called the...police? nope....boyfriend. One is not charged, one is left out in the car (never happen in todays society) and the last one shows up with their buddy who happens to be the only person they manage to kill. Another thing, it seems to be 4:30am throughout the entire film until they are finally knifed, then the sun is full up and it looks like afternoon. And when the strangers took off the masks I thought there would be 3 deformed or grotesque faces, but NOOO you don't even get to see the faces.....in other words, whats the point of taking the masks off. The biggest problem with this film is that it had the potential to be an excellent horror flick, but seemed to fall short due to bad acting/writing. I felt bad for having sat through the entire film and now feel even worst having to re-live it in a post viewing critique. If you are thinking about watching this movie, do yourself a favor and wash the car or cut the grass instead. This is my first post ever on IMDb that is how bad I thought it was!
