The Northman (2022)
I fell asleep
This movie is straight trash. The trailers are so misleading, they should be considered false advertising. I fell asleep fairly early in this movie. However, my buddy that I was with, who generally appreciates this art-house BS said that it was one of the worst movies he'd ever seen. If I base my view of the whole movie on the first 45 minutes, then I'd have to agree with him. Straight garbage.
Wrath of Man (2021)
The pandemic has obviously had an impact on Guy Ritchie
The first 10/15 minutes of dialog is perhaps some of the worst script writing you will ever hear.
They never explain the connection to Anthony Garcia's character.
They never explain why a "gangster" can head-shot moving targets at 20/30 meters with a 9mil.
Nobody who ever served in a unit capable of doing any of these things would ever call the team leader "Sarge."
The idea that a tight-knit team would let one of their guys go off mission (bad!!!) and keeping working with him, is laughable.
I get it, " it's the movies", but if you have ever been on a mission with guys like this movie portends to showcase, you'll be hard pressed to not hate this movie.
Also, wtf does everyone working in LA have a freaking Boston accent?
John Henry (2020)
Do not watch this "movie."
Quite Posse the dumbest and most incoherent movie ever made. Not sure how anyone could have read this script and said "yeah this seems good, I'm in"?
The Last Thing He Wanted (2020)
How I described the movie to a group text
Me- Don't watch that new Ben Affleck movie
D- Which one, that dumb basketball one?
Me- No the one with cat woman girl, Sandinista drug thing cia, he kills her at the end...spoiled now you can't watch
S- Jesus that was the worst description
Me- Believe it or not that was the best description of that movie ever, that's how bad it was
ZeroZeroZero (2019)
Great show- some weapons/tactics flaws
How does a supposed Mexican SF guy hav no sights on his weapon going into a known tactical situation?
Rogue Warfare (2019)
"Russian female sniper" enough said....except...
I refuse to believe that there was even one military technical advisor for this monstrosity. 3 minutes in, you'll realize how bad the dialogue is. 10 minutes in, you'll realize how cliche things will be. 20 minutes in, you'll realize that the Russian girl couldn't possibly know anything about marksmanship or cover and concealment ie: barrel of weapon system hanging out of a window. Then if you get beyond all of that, there's a 10 minute rant of what looks like not even close to a Muslim radical, about how the west will never take "these lands." Not kidding, 10 minutes. Calling a 4 star general "commander"=never happen, a Lieutenant Colonel with an EIB, a beard, and about 28 years old=never happen, not having the helo stay on station while in a TIC=never happen. It looks like the Russian girl's helmet was Andre the Giant's old helmet. Every time the helos are inbound, someone says "10 minutes out." As if that is going to add some sort of military type jargon to the scene. I won't even get into the tactics. Spoiler alert: when the baddie is holding the detonator, and the "sniper" doesn't shoot him, but shoots at him after he detonates the bomb and not hitting him. Why not just shoot him in the first place? I could write probably 10,000 words about what this movie gets wrong. I can write a few words about what it got right....it ended....kind of... even that, they f'd up.
Outlawed (2018)
-7.5 if I could: some of the worst writing that you will ever find in a movie.
It goes like this: imagine a bunch of your buddies, who never spent a day in the military, or in combat decide to write a movie about "British Special Operations." Have them write a movie with all the cliches like "don't call me sir, I work for a living." Then add every "operator" flagging his teammates as they fire and maneuver. Then make sure that everyone is firing from the hip, and all of their M4s have full auto select fire. Then put an eagle globe and anchor (USMC emblem) on an SAS uniform. But wait....there's more, imagine a service where a Sgt can write and submit his own discharge papers, and voila, he's out! I wish I would have written this movie's discharge papers, but without any viola, I am out.
