Leave the World Behind (2023)
Waste of time
The end of the world could have come in sooner than 2 hours and twelve minutes.
In fact it could have happened in the first ten minutes and then this utter trash movie would not have been made.
The film was a chaotic blend of cringe-worthy scenes and dreadful acting, a mishmash that left me scrolling TikTok instead of watching the screen. Each scene felt like a cliché borrowed from countless other movies, and the poor acting had me laughing out loud throughout.
The film's amateurish camera angles, constantly twisting and turning, gave it a vibe as if it were shot by a film student in college.
Creating fewer movies like this would be wise, as more of its kind could potentially lead to an apocalypse.
What a chaotic mess.

Impressive and Unsettling - Sterling Performances Held Me Captivated Throughout
Sometimes, the most memorable cinematic experiences are the ones that leave us feeling uneasy, yet utterly captivated. "Wow, that was uncomfortable, in the best way possible," is the sentiment that perfectly encapsulates my reaction to this extraordinary indie film. From the very first scene to the closing credits, the performances were nothing short of stellar, weaving a narrative that had me completely engrossed. The power of this film lies in its ability to make you feel like an active participant rather than a passive observer. To put it simply, this film was absolutely phenomenal.
A true indie gem.
The Outwaters (2022)
Time loop of garbage, can I get my time back?
While I had high hopes for this movie based on TikTok hype, it ultimately failed to deliver. As a lover of horror, weirdness, and indie films, I was left disappointed by the lack of substance and creativity. The repetition was tiresome and the overall execution was amateurish at best.
Despite the fact that the movie could have easily been condensed into a shorter runtime, it felt like I was sitting through hours of a film that was trying too hard to be clever.
The repetition simply felt lazy and uncreative. It was frustrating to see the same scenes repeated over and over again, without any real payoff or purpose.
In the end, I was left feeling disappointed that this movie wasted my time. The only reason I can see for its popularity is the unfounded hype generated by TikTok.
