A Spectacular Finish To An Epic Journey
16 December 2014
So I went to The Hobbit marathon. Yes, my fangirling has reached the level where I'm willing to sit in a theater for nine hours straight.

First of all, seeing the first two movies on the big screen again (and for the last time) was a wonderful experience. Seeing all three on the big screen in one night? Very cool. And getting to watch the character transformations and story lines in a row, fantastic. The effects, casting, acting, setting, action... everything was good.

Martin Freeman should win some major awards for his acting... actually everyone should. They're all incredible. I must say, I cried for most of the last fifteen or so minutes. If you've read the book etc., you know why. If not, please go so you can cry too.

The action and battle scenes are captivating, intense, and extremely fun to watch. We get more info about Sauron, which makes me very happy. We also get more Legolas and Tauriel, and let's be honest, who doesn't want more Elvish epicness?

There were a few moments I could have done without, and a few moments where the CGI seemed off, but other than that, I honestly couldn't ask for a better movie. I feel like braiding my hair and learning to wield a sword now.

People complain about these movies so much, but honestly, this is as good as it gets when it comes to book adaptations.

9/10

Once again, thank you Peter Jackson. Agorel vae. Galu.

Hooked On A Feeling
5 August 2014
Though this movie had more of a comic book feel to it than some of the other Marvel films, it was spectacular as always. The very first scene had me crying, it didn't take more than five minutes. They found an absolutely amazing child actor to play young Peter Quill, that kid has a great career ahead of him.

The story then jumps 26 years into the future, and it just gets better from there on. Between Peter's sassy immaturity, the non-human's who are often oblivious to the meanings of his comments, and the more serious moments, I was either laughing, completely captivated, or crying through the entire thing.

The writers manage to make you care about all of the Guardians as they weave in excellent character development, friendships, and backstories while providing the audience with a masterpiece filled with enough explosions and sci-fi-ness to keep the fangirls and boys glued to their seats. Oh yes, and the classic rock is awesome.

I give it 10/10 (for Star-Lord's dancing, if nothing else), go see it as soon as you possibly can. The 3D option is fun but unnecessary in my opinion.

Stunning
17 May 2013
This film has definitely made it only my list of favorites!

The action was nothing short of magnificent. Nearly nonstop excitement from beginning to end. Incredible battles, explosions, and escapes etc.

Benedict Cumberbatch gave a masterful performance. I was fully drawn into his character's intricacies. And for me, not having watched much of Star Trek before the 2009 movie, I was constantly on the edge of my seat wondering what the outcome of his actions would be.

Chris Pine was outstanding in his performance as Kirk. He was every bit as intriguing as Benedict was and I found myself in laughing and crying at his portrayal. I will never understand why people criticize his being cast in this role.

The death scenes were spectacular. The emotions were depicted flawlessly. I'm not one to cry at movies, but I found tears in my eyes multiple times throughout this one.

The cast was absolutely wonderful and I can't think of anything I didn't enjoy about this film. I plan to see it in theaters again and will certainly purchase it as soon as it becomes available on DVD. This is assuredly one of the best films I have watched and I HIGHLY recommend seeing in the theater if you can!

Extraordinary film! Awesome plot twists!
21 April 2013
This is definitely a movie I'll be adding to my collection as soon as it comes out on DVD!

First of all, the action was AWESOME! Plenty of explosions and high speed chases. The spaceships, drones, and other flying vehicles were nothing short of spectacular. The suspense was great, not too much, not too little.

The plot twists... well usually a movie only has one or two plot twists. This one had at least four. And they were all very, VERY well done and totally unexpected. I'm a sucker for a good plot twist so when I get that many, I'm thrilled.

The acting was good, the plot was good, everything was just awesome! There was even a little comedy.

This was an amazing, incredibly entertaining film and I definitely suggest seeing this one in the theater.

Worst movie I've ever seen in the theater
26 January 2012
Absolutely awful!

The music didn't fit the scenes.

The acting was AWFUL. Super stiff and weird and annoying.

The character with the constant chew made me want to scream and throw my drink at the screen.

I should have gone to see Sherlock Holmes again. I really should have.

I only survived this movie because my mom and I made fun of it the entire time!

Somehow, even the action was boring. I don't think I had even one adrenaline spike.

After movies like Inception and LOTR and even Flyboys, this was a disgrace to the world off movies.

I have no idea why they even bothered with it.

And of course, they end up killing the only character you actually like.

Better Than Expected!
20 December 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Although slightly corny a couple of times, this movie was actually very good.

This movie had every element, action, love, hate, comedy, etc. I laughed multiple times and enjoyed the action scenes quite a bit.

The villain, a good guy gone bad and turned into a roiling cloud of Fear and evil was actually quite disturbing, especially when it would suck the souls from it's victims.

The action was intense and thrilling and had me on the edge of my seat, yelling advice at the hero.

And for once, someone saw through the ridiculous mask and recognized Hal for who he was. He talked with his friends for advice and pretty much saved the universe. Overall, this was a very enjoyable film which I will probably watch again.

Awesomeness!
8 August 2011
By far one of the best movies I've ever seen. Very fun, the visuals and effects are INCREDIBLE, the casting is perfect, and I laughed quite a bit. I saw this three times in the theater! I never do that! Can't wait for the Avengers!

I love how, at the end of the credits, they always have a small glimpse into the next movie! In Captain America, they gave the first preview for The Avengers. Really looking forward to all of those awesome characters coming together! I'm not sure which is my absolute favorite, Iron Man is a genius, Thor is just....... awesome, Captain America is a wonderful person. I'm going to have to do a Marvel marathon before I see The Avengers!
