Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023)

Season 3 - wow just wow
22 April 2023
Season 3 is nostalgia and decadence all rolled into one. Quiet possibly the greatest single season of Star Trek ever made.

Season 1 and 2 are very missable but I was apprehensive about season 3 having not scene any spoilers and with it being the last season and my oh my they go out with a bang.

Reliving my childhood with familiar faces that bought back so many good memories growing up.

Season 3 continues to make you want to watch the next episode and the next and the next after that. You don't have to look so hard and just sit back and enjoy the ride and it's one hell of a ride.

It's good to have the classic Star Trek back on our screens one more time but hopefully not for the last time.

Scream VI (2023)
4/10
Average
1 April 2023
Some good tense scenes like the underground train and the ladder which were well done but it was all very predictable and I guessed early on who it was. Considering it was billed as scream, like it's never been done before it was just like other scream film. Very average, and missed Neve Campbells presence and the main protagonist doesn't have the same screen presence. Definitely could have waited until it was released to stream on the small screen. I just hope they don't do a F&F and 'stab' this franchise to death more then what they already have maybe i expected too much but I was disappointed.

Self indulgent tripe
12 July 2021
Lead character is a self indulgent fantasist who deems it acceptable to forget about her husband and kids during some mid life crisis and not content with having it all already and wants to have her cake and eat it too. If the main character was a man, the show would be getting slated even more then it already is and the main character generally gives woman a name, the sex part was over done and generally boring after a while and not particularly well done or portrayed either. Maybe males aren't the target audience but either way some of us still have morales.

Blinding by Springsteen
10 July 2019
Saw this as a secret screening at Cineworld as part of there unlimited series. I can understand by the reviews are so mixed as it a very marmite film, I enjoyed the comedy one liners by the main character's dad, absolutely hated the middle 'Grease' homage at which point I was ready to walk, but it pulled it back slightly for the end. The 80's soundtrack is cracking, and as a 80's boy bought up listening the same stuff and having been bought up on a strong diet of Spingsteen by my old man growing up, I related strongly to it. It's not something I would see again, but I'm glad I did at the same time if that makes sense. Not bad at all and better then the mostly negative reviews on here.

Watchable if only for Jean Smart performance
29 March 2019
The performances are hit and miss and the script is weak but Jean Smart's (best known for Logan's wife and First Lady in 24) performance as the mother does her best to hold this whole thing together. The lead performances are watchable, Connie Britton and Eric Bana, I just hope actors playing the daughters is not an accurate portrayal because my god they were annoying and typical American spoilt little rich kids especially Ronnie (Played by Juno Temple) on the whole a good story of a modern day con artist
