Bottoms (2023)

Great stuff
9 September 2023
Bottoms takes everything that we like to make fun of about the high school experience and brings it to the screen. That premise will sit well with anyone, especially when they push it to the extreme as they do. I found the movie to be laugh out loud funny and quite enjoyable. There are so many wtf moments and actually great writing. I was quite impressed I will be watching it again. Females at the forefront of a film in both writing and acting where they do not have to hold back it fantastic to see. I hope that it jist continues to inspire more movies like this. Bottoms will surely become a cult classic.

Great
4 February 2023
This is a movie that is hard to explain but not hard to understand. In my opinion, those are the best movies that give you spectacle but also make you feel something. Every actor in this deserves acknowledged for the hard work they did, right alongside the film makers themselves. The only sad thing about this film is that we will probably never get another movie like it. I will just ha c e to continue to watch it over and over again as it gets better with each view. You get to see things here that we have never seen on the big screen. Couple that with incredible story telling and it is a hit for sure.

Best visual effects
18 December 2022
The movie was made to be cutting edge in effects technology, it succeeded in that. The emotional gasp, however, isn't as strong as the special effects. It is the same story as the first film for the most part. There is something to be said about it echoing some people's cries to respect and cherish nature at all costs. I feel like James Cameron had that as one thing he was trying to get across. He did bring top not h action, some of the best shots I have ever seen on screen. This is the definition of a big screen blockbuster, I am on board for the follow-up movies. Will not be for everyone but good for most.

Wakanda Forever!
11 December 2022
I can not imagine the production struggles this film went through and they still presented a near perfect movie. I think Marvel giving Ryan Coogler the helm allowed this to be brought to the big screen the way it was meant to be. Such a solid tribute to Chad and the Balck Pamther character. Action sets that were awesome, and sets that were beautiful. Angela Bassett needs her Academy Award, she is a revelation. The other characters do play a significant part in the plot development as well. Denia Gurira also gives a fierce performance. The weight of the film lies on Letitia Wright's shoulders as we travel with her through her grieve and struggles she does an outstanding job balancing all these emotions. This was not my favorite Marvel movie but is up there for story development and emotional depth.

Top tier film.
4 December 2022
This is powerful story telling at its finest, the movie is not driven by the characters but by the essence of what is being told to us. We go alongside the investigative reporters in a story we already know that suddenly becomes so personal even though it is on the big screen. Yet another outing that proves that fact based accounts are some of the best, these woman did not rest until the truth came out. This is a movie everyone should see, just to understand how things may not always be how they appear on the surface. We can not be afraid to ask questions when something is not right, we can not stay silent.

Strange World (2022)

Star Wars like fantasy...
4 December 2022
This was quite the adventure, Disney writers continue to be innovative and creative. I enjoyed the story and was for the most part bought in, it was great to see cultural representation as always. It did remind me very much of Star Wars with some of the characters and music, but I would not call it a classic. Will most certainly make people upset, can be called boring at times. I believe the animation itself iwt worth the watch. They created quite a Strange World indeed, not a terrible but not a great movie. I doubt that this one will get a sequel and it most certainly will not become a Disney classic.

Fantastic
28 November 2022
The Fabblemans shows how true content that is important to the film maker shines through on screen, it is one of the most touching movies I have seen. Actors brilliantly brought to life this story, from the main characters to the side ones. Steven has given me yet another magical movie moment, a reminder of why I love his films. Michelle Williams was a revelation on screen, it was one of her best performances. Gabriel Labelle carries the movie in such a way that you feel like you are living it out with him. I could watch this movie again and again. At the core of this movie is family and following your passions, something that everyone needs a reminder to do.

Point Break is an interesting film that puts living on the edge and the balance of right and wrong at the forefront. There are some cool chase and action scenes for sure as well as beautiful shoots and background. The cast is all good for the most part, I would watch it again.

Great time and one wild ride...
6 August 2022
Bullet Train is a hilarious wild ride, lots of twist and turns. Great direction on the close quarters hand to hand combat, and the special effects. The cast all plays their parts very well, the cameos are also well done.

Okay for at home movie night
19 June 2022
This is an interesting story, I just did not feel that invested in the characters. It had some nice cinematography, and interesting direction. The best part was the cast, it was a great ensemble.

Quality Documentary
11 June 2022
This was such an eye opening intimate look into what Robin Williams was dealing with mentally. I think it helps fill in the blanks where some of us might have missed crucial information about his disease. Quality interviews and information from people close to Robin was the best part.

Good fun
2 May 2022
Sonic is a fun family movie for everyone, good story. Jim Carey is a stand out as the villian, he brings so much of the old school Jim Carrey comedy that we know and love. The effects are great, good mixture of CGI and practical effects.

Well, you think you know how this is going to end when you first start watching it, but nothing can prepare you for the emotional depth it takes you to. The cast is great as an ensemble; they work so well together, and it is beautifully directed. This is a great film for everyone, shows you the true meaning of family first and just being there for each other.

Non Stop Action
11 April 2022
Ambulance is a high octane action/comedy/drama, truly an entertaining movie experience. It was great to see Bay do a movie with some heart and well-defined characters. Out of this world, cinematography and story pacing.

Interesting...
11 April 2022
Super interesting concept and storyline. I was intrigued at the beginning, and that feeling stayed with me the whole time. Ansel did a good job with this duality; the role of the doctor was also well played. I was not a huge fan of some of the film's downtime, it was a satisfying ending, though.

Just okay
10 April 2022
I found the start of the movie to be very interesting, then it slowed down a little after that. There are parts when the acting seemed a bit forced; direction was just okay, in my opinion. I didn't know anything about the real-life story this movie was based on, so I did feel like I learned a little while watching.

Frightening in the sense of context not scares...
6 March 2021
Advertised as a horror movies, but in actuality it is a psychological thriller. A very thought provoking one at that, as a black person really makes you think. There is lots of gruesome slavery brutality that I don't know is necessary, I did watch it again and think it's a crazy premise for a movie.

This is an action packed thrill ride, full of explosions and tense moments. You can really tell the use of practical effects in comparison to visual ones, it also had a killer soundtrack. Everytime I watch this movie I enjoy it, it has amazing rewatchabilty.

Great remake!

Great remake, Will Smith does genie justice. This was visually pleasing to watch, and cool to hear all the original music. Guy Ritchie was an amazing collaborator on this movie, the rest of the cast was good as well.

Great performances
26 November 2020
Great film about family and what it means, the acting by Glenn and Amy is moving. The movie almost feels incomplete as though it was too much to translate from the book to the screen, but Ron Howard does a fine job. I think this is an American story that we do not always see in film, so I am glad it was brought to the forefront.

Great film!
25 October 2020
I always enjoy this film, as being a bit timeless. Steven Spielberg takes us beyond the typical sci-fi, and into a dramatic story that makes you think. The cast as robots bring so much hunam emotion, also hats of to the make up and effects teams. This truly is a fantastic movie, with rewatchability.

Feel good, great message, and lots of laughs
7 September 2020
This is one of the funniest animated movies I have seen in a while, with a great message. Shows that you can be cool and non violent at the same time, cool original concept. Voice cast is exceptional and talented, the graphics were good as well.

Just okay...
22 August 2020
Very different take of a remake, I didn't enjoy it as much as the original. Technology obviously changed the story quite a bit, the writting overall was just okay. Acting may have been the only thing that saved this thing, you actually come to like some of the characters.

Very Interesting
26 July 2020
I have to give credit to the sheer originality, there is a poignant racial undertone here that can not be ignored amoungst all the laughs and pop culture references. Extremely well directed. The cast fulfill thier crazy roles to help make the film be more believable, although we are seeing insane things on the screen it feels like it could actually happen.
